Amber with red/prune glints, almost no head. Nose is funky, lots of acetic acid, balsamic vinegar forward, dark dried fruits, caramel. Taste like dark plums, tart dark fruits, long aftaste, acetic acid. I was staggered, actually my glass literally fell backwards sadly

Aroma is the stock spontan sour fruit/ale yeast with a bit of paint. The flavor is dark fruit/figs, malts and a mix of mild vinegar and sour in the finish.

one of the beers in this series i have wanted to try the most, so great to encounter it randomly in a bottle shop in miami this week. such a dramatic beer, maybe the most fig forward of any of the fig beers i have had out there. darker in color than most of these, auburn color, almost brown, but shiny and clear, past copper, slick and without very much head on it at all, still compared to some of the others, especially after the initial pour has a moment to settle. a reach rich dried fruit aromatic here, amarone wine, raisin, seemingly dried figs, with their concentrated flavors and sugars were used instead of fresh ones, or else a whole heap of very ripe fresh ones and aged for quite some time. there is a similar sour and funk yeast profile to this that a lot of the others have, not super sour because the sugar from the figs counteracts a bit of that but there is a mature woody funk about it that really makes it unique, definitely lambic type beer at its heart. the figs just add a ton of flavor, sun-dried complexion, intense for sure, and really really good. a sweet sherry wine complexion on the finish too. i do wish this had more carbonation, that has been an inconsistency in the series, this stagnates a little on the feel, but i like the way it warms up in terms of flavor. if you have been as invested in and committed to this series as i have, you will find this to be a rare treat in it, one of the more unique spontan beers so far. definitely a beauty!
