A 375ml bottle with a best before date of 21st September 2027. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A murky dark orange brown colour with a two finger beige head that dissipated fairly quickly, but left only sparse to no lacing.
Aroma: Tart, lightly sweet and sour, strawberry yoghurt, lightly lactic, peachy and a touch floral.
Taste: Tart, peach, oak, yoghurt with a hint of funk and vinegar.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Very different to all others in the Spontan lineup with its lactic and yoghurty notes and also a whole lot less funky. I’m not sure what rosehip is supposed to smell or taste like, but this beer was pretty nice.

Got this in a bottle at the mikkeller bar in SF. I've loved all of the beers in this series. Like the others, this is very true to what is advertised. Loving this rosehip sour. Beautiful floral nose and reddish color. Nice mouthfeel and very tasty, dry rosy drinking.

A: Cloudy pale orange color after leaving about half inch at the bottom of the bottle (to pitch into a sour homebrew). off white head with medium sized bubbles had good persistence for a sour. Maybe a slight hue of pink among the orange color.
S: Lemony rind tartness with clean oakiness come through at moderate levels. Funky basement with hay and light pineapple at medium levels. No vinegar or offensive aromas but a bit sharper then classic examples.
T: medium tartness with a lime like quality. funky brett dominates with lots of complexity from hay and damp leaves to medium barnyard phenols. medium wheat flavor comes through in the middle with a straweberry jam like flavor (rose hip?) finish with lemony tartness. Balance is on the bugs.
M: A very creamy full mouth feel for a lambic style beer. Carbonation is moderate but very soft. No alcohol warming. The tartness lingers on the back of the tongue after a few sips giving a nice tannic, drying sensation.
O: An interesting profile on the spontanrosehip. The mouthfeel really through me off. I don't know if the rosehips did it or maybe when they were added to the beer but it didn't finish as dry and crisp as I like in the style. It was decent but I don't think Id seek out the others in this series

Very dry and rather jumbled from a taste perspective.
