A: A very light straw color or yellow grass color. Produced a thick white foamy head.

S: Not an overpowering smell, most prominent was of wheat and a very small amount of orange/lemon smell.

T: Not overly powerful of a flavor, more a citrusy flavor with a hin of spice on the back end.

M: Extremely light bodied beer, highly carbonated.

D: A good summer outdoor beer. Very light, easy to drink several in a sitting.

Another selection sampled on-tap at H&H. This Pale Wheat Ale pours a cloudy yellow gold with some brighter yellow highlights. The frothy and somewhat creamy, eggshell white head holds decently well and leaves a bit of modest lace.

Lots of starchy wheat in the aroma along with some sweet citrus and dim, ambiguous spice. Nothing terribly pronounced. Very mild in fact.

Again starchy wheat and mild with a sweeter, bready character and some citrus; primarily lemon. A hint of coriander and clove come through in the finish. Pleasant but not very distinctive.

Starchy but bright with moderate carbonation and a refreshing crispness. A juicy slick finish provides a refreshing quality. Very drinkable and tasty. I'd like to see a bit more in the flavor department but quality for sure.

A- Transparent straw yellow body with thick, fluffy, white head. Head has good retention and some lacing is left behind in the glass. Surprised at transparency of this unfiltered wheat beer.

S- Light grain and yeast smell with some herbal hop aromas. Light and somewhat bland.

T- A grainy taste with hints of peppery spice is upfront with a smooth yeast background. Hops kick in for the finish which is all grain and bitterness. Sweet bready yeast lingers. Not bad but somewhat bland-the citrus zest is definitely missing.

M- Medium carbonation and somewhat thin body.

D- This one wasn't bad but not as good as I expected. I had this one with and without an orange. I know some people look down on adding fruit to beer but the orange solved all my problems with this one. It was missing a citrus character and the orange added that and made this beer go from mediocre to darn good.

Off course many folks can't dig the American Pale Wheat category and I for the most part fall into that category; however, this brew does something that is essential to providing substantial flavor to this style they decide to utilize the hop. Appears a slight clouded golden hue with a white head which leaves nice even lacing with each sip. Aroma contains citrus and sharp 25% wheat characteristics all complemented with a nice hop bouqet that I'm picking up. Taste tickles the palate with somewhat tart citrus and sharp wheat notes but the herbal hop tones really travel well in this brew with moderate bitterness apparent as well giving it more than they typical one dimensional American Pale wheat and yeast staleness. Mouthfeel is light bodied very crisp carbonation on this one goes down easily. Drinkability...definitely not run of the mill for the style some ingenuinity saves this brew considering I didn't have high expectations for their year round wheat I glad I opened up my mind and sampled, I now plan to try it again in the near future.
