Pours an amber red color with a white lacing.

Smells of coppery malts and some mild floral hops.

Biscuity malt flavor with mild dry hop bitterness.

Medium body with a tingle of carbonation on the tongue.

A pretty decent amber ale, not really pale though, but surprisingly good taste. Worth trying.

(Served in an American pint glass)

A- This beer pours a slightly hazy aged copper body with big bubbles racing to a thin bubbly head that fades to a white ring of foam.

S- The soft clean aroma has hints of green hops with a soft caramel malt note that comes through as the beer warms.

T- The soft green citrus notes to the hops is followed by some caramel malt sweetness in the finish and a biscuit malt flavor underneath. There is a green pith hint to the gentle hop bitterness that lingers after the finish.

M- The medium mouthfeel has a gentle fizz in the finish and no alcohol heat.

O- This is a nice little British Pale Ale with American hops. Good depth to the malt with some hops notes growing just a bit more pungent and bitter as the beer opens.

Nice malt, but not much body or flavor. A bit of yeast, not much hop. More like an amber ale. Would be great to see a top quality beer from PR, but this is meh.

This was the first beer I tried when they brought me out a sampler. The beer sampler and the side sampler are the best value in this resturant. I hade sure I drank water beteween beers and ate bread so that the flavor would not interfere with each other.
Appearance- A good full finger of foam. A Deep bronze color but slightly amber

Smell- I like that you can smell the hops. A little fruity but not too much.

Taste- A little bit fruity but not much hops and citrus tones. With a very mild malt flavor.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied.

Drinkability- Refreshing and very easy to drink. As was the case with all of their beers.

A - Pours a rusty brown that looks dark amber/copper in the light with some yellow on the edges. Not a lot of "pale" in the pale ale, as this one looks to carry a little bit of body on it. Not much head, about one finger, that quickly dissipated leaving no lacing or stick.

S - Interesting sweet malts. For an APA, this seems to focus more on dark fruits than on hops. There is a slight citrus hops profile, mostly citrus, but nothing bitter on the end.

T - I find this to be a unique take on an APA. Perhaps it is European influence? Dark fruits and sweetened caramel malts lead to a slight yeasty taste. There is some hops, but once again, nothing bitter. It is more rich and flavorful, with hints of brown sugar, but not necessarily for the American hopheads who prefer APAs like Alpha King and Daisy Cutter (my two favorites). Almost seems like a cross between an APA and a brown ale, or perhaps having quad-influence. This is a good and different take that I enjoy.

M - Heavier side of medium bodied with the proper amount of carbonation for the sweetness and taste.

D - This is a highly drinkable beer consiering the depth of the flavor. I polished off a bomber easily and could have gladly gone for more. A good beer that is a nice changeup from "normal" APAs.

Served in a Sam Adams sensory pint glass.

Thanks to VDubb86 (and his awesome girlfriend) for sharing this bottle!

Seeing that I'll probably never make my way to San Juan, I'm gonna consider myself lucky that those around me are willing to share in some Caribbean bounty. This bit pours a hazy sunset amber topped by more than a finger of light cream froth. The nose comprises caramel wrapped in a tight tortilla of cilantro and orange peel. Yeah. The taste changes things up a bit, with a more sharply bitter bit of orange peel, some light pine, and a strong backup contingent of caramel. The body borders both heavy light and light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a pretty dry finish. Overall, a pretty nice little pale ale, something I could easily see enjoying if ever I make it down to the Rico.

This was a welcome relief after sampling PR’s main stream light lager all week!
Poured into a pint glass, the beer was bronze with a clingy off-white head.

The aroma was of citrus, malts and some fruit notes.

The beer is nicely bitter with a solid malt backbone. There are some mild grapefruit and more fruit. It is balanced and easy drinking. The mouth is a tad oily with low carbonation.
