Color is a reddish amber that is accompanied by a small, foamy head. Aroma is a typical sweet amber malt with just a hint of hops. Taste is more of the same: sweet amber malt touched by caramel flavors. This is pretty good, though nothing special, almost every brewpub seems to have something like this.

Pours a deep tawny amber color with a short light tan head that fades into a creamy lace. Nose is toasted malt along with some faint notes of lightly floral hops. Taste is lightly toasty caramel malt and fruity (and lightly spicy) citrusy hops leaving a dry finish. Very drinkable. If you are one of those people who usually don’t care much for amber ales, this one may change your opinion.

Had on-tap at the freshly opened Covey. Looks nice, a clear darkish amber with a creamy head that settles into a clingy layer that lasts well with a little agitation halfway through.

Smell is rather clean and faint, a whiff of light hops - I may need to reevaluate later to get a better sense of the bouquet. The taste really stands out, though; hops are an immediate presence, surprising in an amber ale, with predominantly citric tartness and some floral notes too. Malts hold up their end of the bargain, though - some light roasty stuff, a mild caramel sweetness. Mouthfeel is a touch more carbonated than I'd prefer, but it contributes nicely to the drying, crisp, almost Old Ale vinous finish.

This is an ale that could do nicely with another review or two, as its subtlety deserves more meditation than I could provide immediately. It'll certainly be my go-to selection from the Covey, and it paired in a beautiful way with their Palermo pizza.

Pours a dark amber with a thin but persistent head. Aroma is faint toasted malt.

Taste is dry caramel, slightly sweet and a little nutty. Flavor profile has a light hoppy element and a lemony flavor.

Mouthfeel is light, clean, very quaffable. I'll be honest: I'm not a big fan of the amber style, I think it's rather boring and unappealing. But this one could change my mind, very distinctive and sessionable.
