Had this in the samplers line they give you of 5 beers at the Tun Tavern for like 6-7 bucks. Very well balanced beer with just enough roasted malt and a little under there hop bite. Reminds me of an Oktoberfest actually. Samuel Adams and this one are close but I can tell in Samuel Adams they use the Noble hops and maybe a bit more nicer of a roasted malt taste. This is only slightly sweet and not as much as a Samuel Adams malt taste even though it has a nice reddish brown color. My least favorite in the beers I sampled from there but by no means a bad beer at all I did enjoy this one and makes for a perfect session beer low alcohol and better than a Yuengling.

Pours deep crimson with a white to off-white head that settles to a thin cover. Lacing sticks.

The smell is of lightly roasty caramel - toasty, slightly burnt edges - and an earthy/leafy touch.

The taste is roasted caramel, nuts, hint of dark chocolate. As malty as it is, it has a nice leafy/hoppy bitterish touch giving it a balance so that it is not too sweet in the finish.

The malty feel and medium carbonation give it a smooth, almost velvety body.

Very easy to drink and a solid choice for a "sessionable" malt-accented (but with balance in the finish) brew.
