A: Pours a clear golden color with a white head that drops down to a persistent collar.

S: There's a pleasant maltiness on the nose that is obvious but not overpowering. Light spicy, grassy noble hops, with a lemony hint.

T: Very nice malt characteristics that don't beat you over the head but are still quite pleasant. A very subtle fruity quality appears on the midpalate and is overtaken by a bready quality in the finish and aftertaste. Hops are not prominent and there is only a slight bitterness, which is all this beer needs.

M: Very smooth, clean, and refreshing light to medium body.

D: A very nice, very sessionable lager. It's nice to find a clean, light tasting lager that has some flavor. Well done.

I purchased a variety 12 pack from Applachian Brewing Co in Harrisburg PA and this was one of 4 different bottles.

Color is normal, average lager color. A shade or two darker than a macro beer. Not much head to speak of, but what little there is sticks around on the surface, which is nice to see.

Smell is grassy, with some faint malt underneath.

Taste is pretty much the same. Corn-like, grassy-like. Rather unappetizing and unappealing, unfortunately. Something just doesnt seem quite right, and I swear I can pick up on the alcohol in this, even though its only 4.5%

The carbonation is there, with a bit of the "stinging" mouthfeel that macros have. Overly watery, though.

Brewpubs that bottle & sell their own beer are kickass, and I totally want to be supportive, but this beer is just not very good. I cant say I'm disappointed, since I didnt expect much in the first place, but there is certainly room for improvement.

This Dortmunder Export style pours a clear, glistening, marigold body with a small offwhite head that quickly drops into a collar. Lots of lively carbonation is on view in the glass.
Aroma is a bit restrained, with some sweetish smelling malt notes and grassy hops.
Mouthfeel is light medium, with moderate carbonation.
Taste features husky grain, biscuity malt, and some assertive grassy hop bitterning that serves up a nice balance.
An above average lager that is crisp and refreshing. A good American representation of the Dortmunder style.

Appearance: clear, bright gold in color, 1/2 inch head, high carbonation

Smell: grass and toasted malt

Taste: grass, honey, sweet toasted malt, and hops in the background

Mouthfeel: high carbonation, semi-sweet with a bitter backbone, medium/light bodied

Drinkability: I could have three or four. Very good for the style. I like the mix of sweet and hoppiness. This tastes like a maltier pilsner.

I liked this beer, what it lacks in complexity it makes up for with good taste and refreshment.

A- although mainly drunk from the bottle, this beer was golden in color with lots of carbination

S- some hops not a lot of nose to this beer

T- very nice, clean upfront with just the right amougnt of hop bitterness in the finish. very tasty

M- Balanced some good carbination with a light mouthfeel, this added to the refreshing characteristics of this beer

D- an easy drinker, very refreshing on a hot summer day, I would have this again

DATE TASTED: November 15, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: pilsner... OCCASION: finishing off a football Sunday... APPEARANCE: clear, golden body that has a steady, sparse display of bubbles; the head clumps in marshy pools of off-white fuzz, with a solid ring solidifying the outside of the glass... AROMA: fresh dough intermingles with aromatic flowery fragrances; some uneven yeastiness keeps the aroma from complete allure.... PALATE: light, nearly flat body that allows for maximum sipping; little carbonation; watery, forgettable aftertaste... TASTE:slight buttery flavor with some maltiness to suggest a biscuit; some of that flowery, hoppy lightness attempts to balance the experience... OVERALL: a solid Dortmunder that offers a bit of nuance but also resides in the style's parameters...

Although not so popular among those who love the extreme, I find this to be one of my favorite brews. Pours amber with a nice, white head which maintains throughout the drinking. Malts hit first followed by the well balanced hoppyness. Nicely carbonated with the head lacing all the way down. Finishes great. I agree, this is the beer that Yuengling Lager drinkers should be looking to.

This is a great everyday, not-so-heavy or alcoholic brew, making it a great session beer. I drink it on a regular basis and it never lets me down. Good, solid Summer beer when I just want to have something light and great tasting.

Appearance: Perfect golden color. Nice carbonation and decent head retention.

Smell: Neutral fruit smell, though I can't quite put my finger on what type of fruit. Lot's of bread malts.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Tastes ok. I actually like the taste. Tons of bread malts. Goes down easily. The downside is the bitterness, which I did not like and detracted from the taste.

Drinkability: While it goes down smoothly, its bitter after taste hurts.

Overall: I thought this beer was kind of weird. Honestly, I know very little about this style. It's maltiness might be too much for some people. It's respectable.

A clear golden body teems with vibrant carbonation beneath a full head of bright white foam. The retention is fair, and maintains a wide collar and leaves some minor lacing about the glass. The nose expresses a combination of lightly grainy malt and citrusy (lemon rind) and lightly floral/grassy hops. It's not bold, but it's fresh, clean, and welcoming. The body is medium-light; and it's fine and slightly zesty carbonation is more airy on the palate than crisp. The flavor is more grainy than the nose leads you to believe, and the hops are unfortunately subdued. A delicate bitterness balances it's cereal-like maltiness well, but somehow leaves it lackluster. It finishes fairly short and dry although some grain tends to build on the palate as it warms.

Appearance: translucent gold similar to stained glasswhich I loved. Solid quickly dissapating head typical of the style.

Smell: Weak nose, I picked up on some citrus and steel though.

Taste: Dry and slightly bitter, I tasted hints of banana as well. A good tasting lager.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and clean, acceptable.

Drinkability: Overall an impressive lager. I'd especially love to pair it with pizza.

I don't know what's Dortmund or Export about this beer, tasted like a plain old american all-malt to me. Not that that's necessarily bad, but this doesn't taste any different to me. Reminds me of the older Saranac all-malt lager. A slight grainy and biscuity quality with sweet grains. Nothing to write home about, but pleasant and washes doesn food just fine.
