A: Perfectly clear orange-gold body topped with a thin patch of course khaki suds. Plenty of bubble action but with some minimal stay power as the head slips down to a thin film. Leaves back just a few lightly scattered dots and streaks of lace sticking to the glass.
S: Very much an American Pale pronounced with toasted bread and biscuit notes. Mix in a light dash of caramel sweetness. Not nearly as fragrant as I had hoped this would be. Some signature Chinook character does reveal here however. All flowery dank nuggets with some soft citrus bits in between. Fairly nice.
T: The base lays down a very bready foundation with some mild malt sweetness to it. The Chinooks really show up and deliver in the flavor however. I get a good amount of sticky Cannabis with flashes of pine resin, citrus fruit, and hop flowers. There is a lower amount of perceived bitterness to this one and the alcohol is practically nonexistent. Has a nice drying crisp action and some good linger to it. Makes for a nice sessions ale with not too much to think about.
M: Moderate to lighter body with a fair amount of carbonation to provide a soft spritz across the palate. Lower actual perceived bitterness. Very dry and crisp in the finish with a decent resiny linger to it.
D: A fairly straight forward APA with good balance. Not as vibrant as I was looking for but makes for a nice no frills session. Good but much better offerings are available at Port.
