On tap at Pizza Port Bressi Ranch – Full pint
Notes taken on 07/25/2014

A: Light burnished gold look with precision clarity and a finger width cap of foamy sea suds. Lightly scattered swaths of lace track along the glass walls after every sip.

S: Bright and fruity hop aromatics redolent of peach, grapefruit, and melon. A very nice fruit bouquet as it all comes together. I get a light undertone of bready pale malts on secondary passing. Freshly hopped and oh so juicy this fish is smellin fine.

T: Impressive hop freshies coming through in the flavor as well with juicy apricot, grapefruit, melon, and a bit of flowery perfume. This brew packs a super hoppy punch which I love and has just enough understated honey malt cracker to keep the beer in line. Resinous with some evergreen action there. Alcohol is well masked and the balance is quite real with a nice dry lingering finish. Excellent house IPA I must say.

M: The body is light with a frothy feel on the tongue and a big hop bitter bite. Super dry and resinous in the finish leaving you cotton mouth and wanting for another sip.

D: This is a great IPA that delivers on all that juicy fruit like hop goodness with an upper amount of bitterness yet maintaining balance right through. So glad the tender recommended this one. Definitely one worth checking out at the ranch.

One of the best IPAs I've ever had. Great taste, aroma, feel. I highly recommend taking home a mini growler ... frequently!

A: Lots of hops -- with notes of citrus, especially grapefruit, pine, and light tropical fruit with a touch of clean malt sweetness.

A: Bright golden color, totally clear with a thin white head that has decent retention before forming a film across the glass.

T: Hoppy upfront, with a citrusy, piney taste that gives way to a light malt sweetness that has a moderately strong bitterness, and a dry finish.

M: Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation.

O: Tasty; this beer is put together well with a clean hoppy citrusy, piney aroma that has just enough clean malt character, making the beer easy to drink.

Walking into Bressi Ranch, I asked for their best IPA & received this in 16 oz pint glass. An occasional visitor can't go to Pizza Port & order anything but hops, right?

The brew is pale yellow only slightly eclipsed by haze, & the head look like my ninth grade Biology petri dish. Hard lemon, crushed oranges, & Kool-Aid in the nose. Wild & appealing.

If The Fish isn't the best Bressi Ranch Pizza Port has to offer, I'm going to move in under their patio. The first sip is a septum-clearing orange that's highly bitter - & I mean bitter, not just socially misunderstood. Slasher film bitterness is tamed by an awesome mouthfeel of straight orange pulp, juicy, full of resin, with a whole underlayment of tropical flavors that can't quite be fingered. Rich, sweet honey shadows the malt. I wish this came in buckets.

This is what all the hyped northeast hops aspire to be, but so few attain. The kind of beer that made me actually look up the walking distance to my hotel, because, well, damn. Fantastic, & the first IPA this trip has set the bar frighteningly high.
