Clear, very pale yellow with good effervescence and a dense white head that settles into a cap and leaves moderate lacing.

Classic pils aroma with some biscuity malt and lightly floral hops. Slightly sweet and a little skunky-- just like I like it.

Refreshing taste, with sweet biscuit malts, some lightly floral, spicy hops and moderate bitterness. Some distant lemon. Clean aftertaste, and a soft, crisp feel with decent carbonation.

Sort of straddles what I expect from a Czech and German pils, but tastes great either way. Could see putting back a bunch of these at a ballgame or BBQ. Canned on 2/21/17.

Cloudy pale straw on the pour with foam that dissipated quick. Sweetness of malt and hints of citrus peel on the nose. Light to Medium bodied, grainy and bitterness on palate. Overall, not really a czech pilsner style but enjoyable a over summer breeze.

Nice golden straw look... I can smell straw in the nose. This brew is true to the Czech style with a punch of Saaz hops on the front end and a crisp refreshing finish. A great alternative to the Macro pilsners out there.

Big clarity yellow kind of pour, its got Big Beer levels of professional clarity to it, 3/4" white head, pristine white. The aroma is a light grain, hay, grass kind of meld of the lager yeast and pilsner malt. Interestingly enough, this is about the least hoppy Pizza Port beer I've ever come across. I think I assumed this would be hella hoppy, but no.

Taste is fine, its an interesting yeast, doesn't seem Euro centric at all. The hops taste like they are Saaz, maybe some East Kent Golding and/or Hallertau. Shit what do I know, maybe there is even some Cascade here. I'm fairly confident nothing proprietary was used. Just a straw tea, carbolic and metallic kind of taste to it.

Didn't seem like this was all that popular, popped up and hasn't really been seen since the same year it debuted I believe. It was serviceable, but somewhat a victim of Pizza Port's own (hoppy) success and this didn't fit into that mold.

More craft pilsners, please.

Canned on 7/23/15 stamped right on the bottom of the can.

A: Pours a transparent straw. Almost golden. Vigorous carbonation, with large-ish bubbles rising to the surface to form about a finger and a half of bleached white head. Head is delicate, with a mixture of small and larger bubbles. Decent retention. Looks like an excellent pilsner.

S: FIrst whiff is fairly muted hops. Herbal, lemon, sulfurous compounds. Grain is very crackery and slightly toasty/salty in the nose.

T: Moderate shot of bitterness up front. Lemon oil, herbal and dried green, if that makes any sense. Don't get any of the usual green grape out of this one. Mid palate the malt exudes some influence, but the bitterness takes on an aspirin like characteristic, quickly overrunning the majority of malt. Malt finally pops some flavor on the mid palate, with lightly baked cracker and the same slightly saltine quality.

M: Light. Crisp. Carbonation is subdued in the mouth. Slightly heavier than many of it's European counterparts. Incredibly dry.

O: Good but not stellar. Dunno. Something about the way the hop bitterness intermingled with the malt threw me off. Probably won't purchase again.

Canning date of 12/21/15

Appearance - Pours slightly hazy and pale yellow in color with a white, near two finger width head. Fair retention, leading to a thin, consistent layer of suds on across the surface. Lacing consists of a few broken lines and some spotting.

Smell - Hay. Lesser grain. Light hoppy notes of grass and lemon.

Taste - Follows the nose to a degree. Prominent notes are mildly hoppy with grassy notes, lemony zing and some light spiciness. Malts ride beneath, delivering a bit of grain and earthy hay notes. The finish is mostly balanced, with faint lemon peel bitterness lingering in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Light-bodied with moderate carbonation. Crisp, somewhat dry finish.

Overall - This is a solid Czech Pilsner. The can makes this a viable option for river and lake trips in the summer. I'll have to remember that.

From the 16 oz can purchased at Bottlecraft on India St. Pale lemony yellow color with a decent white foam in the tall lager glass. It looks lemony but also has that same citrus edge. Some mild bitterness. The sharpish aroma makes me think of a wild thing lurking, some fermenting pineapple.

Crackery with a modest malt taste. The review by crob3888 hits all the flavors-- subtle but distinct lemongrass and white wine notes. Even something like coriander with a barky touch. Pleasant and quaffable. Another light brew that turns out to have lots of flavor, which is what we need more of in the face of hop monsters and black tarry malt movements.

Pours two fingers of head on a clear light golden body.
The aroma is a nice grain and hay smell.
The taste plays between sweet and bitter, metallic and lemon bitter.
The texture is crisp and fizzy.

This pours a pale straw-gold. I get a lemony-grassy note on the aroma. It's muted, not so present as to be bracing. Crisp and clean on the palate with just enough hop kick to bring it all together. This straddled the line between "hoppy craft pils" and "fizzy lager/lawnmower beer" just about perfectly.

Canned on 7/7/15.

Pours a clear light yellow with a foamy white head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Small swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, earth, grass, and hay aromas. Taste is much the same with earth, grass, and hay flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with solid aromas, but the flavors are much better and make this one tasty, light, and easy to drink.

Serving type: can.
