Golden yellow colour with noticeable lace. Well contained bitterness, above average pale. On-tap at Port Carlsblad. All the C-hop without aggressively on your palate as per the IPAs. Well carbonated and respectable mouthfeel, as per their entire lineup.

Served in a pint glass, it pours a bright yellow-gold with a slight haze and a 1/2 white foamy head. Good carbonation with decent head retention and rather tasty looks.

Smells very IPA-ish, lots of piney hops upfront with notes of grapefruit rind and lime. The taste is quite hoppy, just as it smells with a nice, mildly sweet malt lying beneath a healthy dose of hops that eventually finish citric and clean. Refreshing and crisp with a full medium body that renders the alcohol content undetectable.

A very good, easy to drink ale that is more than suitable for marathon sessions. A great intro for those who want to try something hoppy that doesn't wreck your sense of taste like most west coast I and IIPA's.

Congrat's to Gina M. for newly-born daughter Ava, whom the beer was brewed in honor of....Cheers!

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad – 05/18/13
Standard pint glass

A: Pale yellow to straw gold with some slight hazing throughout the body. Visible carbonation with a fat finger of pure white sudsy froth and ample retention efforts. There are some squiggly lines of stick across the glass that interval at each sip

S: Citrus hops with a touch of pine in the nose. Very American C hops it seems. Has the orange and pine combo going on with a touch of tropic florals. Not much malt detected here or any other aromas for that matter. Subtle but nice and pleasing.

T: Citrus fruits of grapefruit and orange group with sappy pines for a very familiar and classic hop flavor profile I have come to experience with your standard American C varietals. The flavors turn to more floral attributes midway with a dash of herbalness. Thinking probably Columbus here. There is very little malt character to even note other than a few sugary bits to balance. The beer has a higher than expected amount of bitterness across the palate and alcohol is well masked throughout. Delicate with the flavors but a nice and sessionable IPA.

M: Very light in body with a fine crisp snap on the finish. Has a spritzy texture from the carbonation and some light resinous stick after but otherwise fairly clean.

D: This is a nice IPA with a more delicate flavor approach. While I did find the beer to be hop forward and somewhat bitter overall it is pretty tame compared to Poorman’s and others. Nice for a starter sessions beer.

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pale yellow with a mountain of craggy white froth. Good retention and much lacing. A little citrus in the nose with floral and herbal aromatics. Malt is grainy with some saltine cracker and biscuit. The flavor is grainy with a mild herbal hop presence. There's a dash of biscuit in there and a touch of lemon. Upper light body with high carbonation. Upper low bitterness throughout.

On tap at Pizza Port in Carlsbad, CA.

Pours a clear yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, citrus zest, and slight tropical fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with a citrus zest flavor on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty but smells better in my opinion.

A- Golden yellow with half-finger head.

S- It smelled amazing, wanted to bury my face in it.

T- Crisp, clean, and delicious. It paired extremely well with the pesto, artichoke, and chicken pizza.

M- Not too heavy, not too light, but dense enough to know your drinking a real beer and not some mass produced liquid.

D- Great drinkability, split a pitcher with my brother and his girlfriend and we all loved it.
