On tap at Beavertown Extravaganza. Aroma has coffee, toasted malt and some chocolate malt. Taste is balanced, roasty with some baker's chocolate and roasted malt bitterness on the finish.

80% black, 20% brown is the color, good solid inch of tan head on it. Massive roast bitterness and chocolate malt.
Aggressive roasting dominates the palate. Substantial bitterness and abv. Anise. Mouthfeel gets better as one gets used to the heat and roast. I don't want to call it rough, but it is definitely a high ibu, high abv, high roast, no sweetness kind of imperial stout.

A lighter shade of black, but beyond dark brown. Beige head, 1" deep, the standard, average lacing and retention. Dark chocolate aroma, heavier bitterness going on.
Flavors had some highly roasted nuttiness to accompany the dark chocolate and substantial amount of malt that was also roasted in an aggressive manner. The bitterness contributes to the initial thought that this was a pretty high abv beer. As the drinking experience continued, the high alcohol mouthfeel vanishes and you're left getting more acclimated to the beer, it seems less bitter and silkier throughout the back half of the beer. Licorice? I'm thinking it might be in here.
A pretty good beer, it gets better after you kind of experience the high bitterness, hops, roastiness and slightly acrid taste at first, but my palate adjusted and it became an impressive beer. Who knows, maybe it just took some time to wash the ipa's out my mouth or whatever pizza we had ordered. Drank at San Clemente Pizza Port.

Pours a nearly black opaque with a taupe head. Smoky, coffee, and cherry aromas. Mouthfeel is so smooth, creamy, silky, bordering on viscous. A lot of chocolate, coffee and sweet lactose. Finishes with some bitterness, coming from a combination of bittering hops and coffee acidity.

Had on tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach.
Beer pours a nice, rich dark brown witha nice tan head that laces throughout.
Beer smells of roasty malts and slightly of dark chocolate.
Beer tastes of roastiness. Hints of chocolate and coffee, followed by quite a bit of bitterness.
Beer was a bit on thing side, as far as mouthfeel.

On tap at Stone Brewing Bistro & Gardens. Very dark brown with a white creamy head. Big, but very good roast. Not very drinkable but really hits the spot based on the roast. Not astringent, certainly well hopped. Licorice, chocolate, coffee. Medium mouthfeel.
