Black in the standard shaker pint with a thick creamy head and all the expected lacing. Faint grainy aroma.
Delightful watery body that is also full of flavor. Rather mild all around. Just a pleasant burr of blackened malt, a faint hint of sour charcoal, even a splash of sweet malt. Some bitterness towards the end. A pleasant quaff but nothing to start a fight over.
On tap at Pizza Port in OB (9/04/2012 notes). ABV was listed at 4.3%.

Nitro pour at Pizza Port San Clemente.
A: Dark brown with an unassuming deep red tinge (Argento worthy). There's a finger of tan cream that fades in half a minute, though a few defiant bubbles linger.
S: Lightly roasted grains blend with coffee and cream with nutty notes. I detect unsweetened chocolate.
T: Chocolate and cream with dark grains and a little coffee. Lightly nutty with low bitterness. Nice flavor. Sweet cocoa coffee finish.
M: Medium body with a thin, watery, slightly creamy mouthfeel.
Overall: A well-executed Dry Stout. Very enjoyable, though a bit of a thin mouthfeel.

Had on tab at Blind Lady Ale House. First beer of my San Diego trip.
Beer poured a dark black color with a good amount (2 fingers or so) of creamy white head.
Beer smells faintly of a sweet, roastyness, but nothing too prounounced.
Beer had a fairly weak taste. A bit of roasty, but not very much. The beer had a bit of a bittersweet aftertaste like dark chocolate, but again faint.
Mouthfeel was creamy, but a bit on the thin side.
Overall, an OK dry Irish stout, but nothing really stoodout.

On Tap (Nitro)
Churchill's Pub & Grille
San Marcos, CA
Black in color with a thin and creamy head after the cascading nitro pour. Decent lacing--I couldn't expect anything more from this beer.
Faint aroma. Some slight roasted malt and grain presence with a bit of chocolate bitterness and sweetness.
Not a lot of flavor going on either. Some slight coffee flavors, quite a bit of roasted malt, and a bit of sweetness.
Thin mouthfeel, nitro carbonation.
A simple, undefined, quite roasty dry stout.

On nitro at Pizza Port San Clemente
A: The pour is nearly black in color with a finger of creamy, dense, tan head.
S: Smells of coffee and roasted malts with some bitter dark chocolate character, too. A touch of earthy hop character. Just a hint of sweetness, sort of like molasses.
T: The flavor is definitely watery, more so than I often find with other nitro beers. The same coffee, roasted malt, and dark chocolate flavors are there, but the intensity is not.
M: Thin bodied with the typical nitro carbonation.
O: Far too watery tasting and too thin on the tongue. Could have been better with a bit more body.
