Notes / Commercial Description:
This beer is a tribute to anyone out there who has had to experience the graveyard shift, or for those who happen to like cheesy vampire flicks. Actually its really for all of you who can't go without your morning cup of coffee. Brewed with Bird Rock Coffee Roasters's hand roasted coffee beans from Caffe Calabria, you can smell this glorious Imperial Coffee Porter as soon as the bartender starts pouring it.

Pours a two finger dark tan head of fine bubbles over a pitch liquid. Very dark brown on the edgings. Smells raw like fresh ground coffee beans. Supported by a gentle chocolatey and very mild vanilla sweetness. After warming, some hazelnut and something like a sweetened-nutmeg aroma. Really a nice sniffer

Tastes very nice. Rich deep coffee over complex dark chocolate. Multiple layered coffee and chocolate are well integrated and carried by a soothing malt sweet that avoids being too little and too much. The sweet gets me thinking this will be thick and chewy, but it's actually moderate. Mild nut, some pumpkin pie spice, iron, some hop grassiness. Chocolate-chip pancakes. There is a bit of a drying acidic astringency accompanied by a grassy rough in the finish that I'd rather was not present. Mild carbonation. Overall, very well done and definitely worth trying if you get the chance.
