Appearance: lighter in color than most DIPAs. This is a yellow straw color, looks like Swami's
Smell: melon rind, oranges, bit of mango
Taste: melon, lemon, citrus, mango, dry white biscuit, finishes with a little boozy bitterness that is not overall unpleasant.
Overall: Pizza Port puts out some top notch stuff and this DIPA is no slouch. Has a great level of hop bitterness complemented by tropical citrusy fruits and manages to retain some nice malt sweetness and slight booziness that fits the style.

Clear burnt orange with a moderately-sized, creamy bone-white head. Leaves lots of sticky lacing down the glass.

Floral, citrus, and grassy aroma, along with some definite malt sweetness. A big, bold, expressive DIPA, but too much malt sweetness compared to what I really like to see in these style beers from Pizza Port.

Huge bitterness, floral notes, grass, and bready sweetness. Initially, there's some dank marijuana and citrus character, but after just a few sips the overwhelming bitterness and sweetness take over. This is a tough pint to put down.

Medium to full in body for the style, slightly chewy, with moderate carbonation.

A huge DIPA--too bitter for my liking, ultimately, but not poorly executed.

On tap at Pizza Port Solana Beach on 8/25.

A: Pours a clear honey-orange body capped with a finger of off-white head. Decent retention with some lace left behind.

S: A distinctly floral (jasmine) aroma with substantial tannic bitterness. Malt is sugary without venturing into caramel. Kind of an understated, underwhelming nose.

T: On the front end, this has a distinct floral flavor and something that reminds me of almond marzipan or Di Sarrono. The sweetness of the malt backbone does little to counteract the fairly sticky, lingering, tea-like bitterness of this beer, which maintains an undercurrent from start to finish and becomes prominent in the aftertaste.

M: Medium-bodied, with more bitterness than I like and more stickiness of said bitterness than I'd prefer. No trace of the ABV.

O: Given how good PP's IPAs have been in the past, I expected quite a lot better, to be honest. This was nothing to write home about.
