Pizza Port Bressi Ranch

A great, hoppy, somewhat bitter IPA from Pizza Port. Lots of pine and candied grapefruit aromas and flavors. Crisp mouthfeel. Moderate bitterness. Delicious, as to be expected from the brewers at Pizza Port.

Standard pint glass

This is listed as an El Dorado Hopped IPA at 7.5% ABV brewed for the Toronado 5th Anniversary Party

A: Light golden straw body with dull copper tones. Appears to have some faint chill haze. Nice frothy paper white finger of stubborn foam head. Fragmented lace leaves behind a modest trellis after each sip.

S: Aromas comprise of candied citrus fruits and evergreens with a touch of spice. Very little malt character presents itself in the nose. Perhaps a faint caramel malt sweetness to it but mostly hops here. Not incredibly potent. Enjoyable none the less.

T: Flavors are laced with a combo of sappy pines and spiced grapefruit. There are some lesser degrees of herbal spice coming through as well. All of which are layered over a very dry and light crackery malt base. Maybe just a whisper of caramels are revealed. There is a nice upper level of puckering bitterness across the palate and alcohol is incredibly well masked. A little one-note if you will but still a nice crisp and hoppy IPA with a resinous finish.

M: Moderately light in body with ample carbonation to provide a nice spritzy texture. Peppering bitterness with an incredibly dry finish and a long lasting resinous linger.

D: Another fine drinking IPA brewed up by Port Carlsbad. Not entirely stand out compared to some of Port’s regular line-up but still refreshingly tasty and nice to experience the fresh El Dorado hops.
Wish I could have made the Toronado Anny party but still glad to have caught this one on tap right at the source.
