Clear classic AAL gold with a white foam.

Smell is butter, cream, corn, grass and orange.

Taste is orange rind and peel, grass and bread

Medium body, frothy, finishing semi dry.

Now hold on a sec...this is supposed to be an IPA, but is coming across as a pretty classic AAL, if not with a slight twist. I probably should be giving it even lower marks than I did...

S: Honey sweetness... tropical fruits and pine.

T/F: Light malts and grains... very tropical fruit in character. Somewhat spicy. Mango and pepper... pine and citrus. Solid bitterness. Medium to light in body. Well carbonated. Aftertaste is honeyed citrus.

O: A solid IPA from Voodoo.

12 oz bottle, no date

Yellow golden in color, a bit hazy. Thin white head. Citrus and pine hop aroma. Taste is both bitter and has decent hop flavor. Mouthfeel is a little oily.

Poured into a narrow pint glass: color is gold, head is 12 inch at initial pour with off white color and fine bubbles, head laces the glass slightly and lingers as a 1/4 inch top.

Smell is light toast malt, hint of caramel then some really subtle but pleasant hop aromas, mainly citrus and tropical fruit (pineapple comes to mind).

Taste is very nice fairly clean malt and clean hop presentation with a fairly dry finish and lingering malt graininess; other flavors come through as it warms, subtle biscuit, light - very light caramel then the tropical fruits with a touch of lemon zest.

Mouthfeel is dry and crisp, at first it didnt play well with the flavors but a little bit of warmth balances it with some more pronounced sweetness and light breadiness.

Overall, this beer started out a bit to dry, but came back with a great finish as i reached the end of the pour. Well done IPA with subtle flavor qualities.

I purchased this from my local Giant Eagle in a mix a 6 pack: very disappointed in the taste vs what I read about it. To me this is a come down IPA after a Dogfish 90 Minute IPA and others ... I try many IPA's and this is one I will not be buying a 6 pack of...
better to only try just a bottle ....

Tasted on tap in a pint glass and from a 12oz bottle in a tulip (this review is directly written from the latter). An impressive West Coast IPA - makes me unbelievably disappointed that they'd just killed their keg of Unrefined before we arrived - this appears to be the style that is Voodoo's wheelhouse.

Pours an almost-headless hazy tangerine. Nose is a perfect amalgam of citrus and pine. Orange flesh and rind, along with tangerine and kumquat intermingle with the faintest his of resinous pine on the nose. The palate is a more complex (though faintly maltier) version of Ithaca's Flower Power. Less floral and with the addition of piney notes. The malt background is slight enough that this absolutely qualifies as an almost-west IPA (perhaps more appropriately a Midwest IPA?). Mouthfeel is spot on to match the body. Overall a solid entry into the Voodoo line-up.

Pours a nice bright gold with a medium-small persistent head. Fantastic bright complex hoppy aroma thats primarily citrusy American hops. Lots of hop flavors up front, much like the smell- it's complex citrus hops, grapefruit but that doesn't dominate. This goes into some light malt sweetness before going into a lasting and very pleasant hop bitterness in the finish. Full bodied and well carbonated. Heaviness taking it toward DIPA territory. Overall a very solid IPA with a great hop profile which is primarily what you want from the style.
