Poured from 12-ounce bottle into a bow tie glass. Very nice appearance: murky pale amber in color, with a thick, fluffy, long-lasting white head that looks like sea foam floating on top of the beer. The head eventually settles into a thick cap, leaving lots of sticky lacing. Unfortunately, it's all downhill from there. Very malt forward on the nose and palate, with notes of citrus (orange, grapefruit) and herbal and grassy hops. Rather unpleasant grapefruit-pith bitterness lingers on the palate. This sample was probably past its prime. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to go after a fresh one. The idea of the seven "C" hops is too intriguing to pass up.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Cloudy yellow wth a thin white head but good lacing. Smells fruity. Taste is citrus with a significant lemon contribution. Overall, a good but fairly standard IPA.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Moderate gusher upon opening. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, pear, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, cracker, white bread, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/piney/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, pear, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, cracker, white bread, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, pear, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, cracker, white bread, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/piney/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 7.3%. Overall this is a delicious IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/piney/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink; with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Never overly aggressive. Really great classic citrus/fruity/earthy C hop showcase; solid pale malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow with ample head around the 1" mark, white in color, small bubbled in appearance. The smell was more of toast and some mild hops of a tree like nature.

Taste is pretty much as you would expect here. High alpha acid hops, some toasted pale malt. Bitterness in the 70ibu range, mouth feel is accompanied by a high degree of carbonation. Grapefruit and forest. Its like they made a beer that should have had Simcoe in it, but decided to go with every C hop known to man. They got the malt bill for a west coast india pale ale, but I dunno about the hopping on this one, seems to be behind the times and slightly lacking.

A: Medium yellow in color with a large white head.

S: Citrus, with orange and grapefruit, and a definite malty aroma that comes off as sweet.

T: Citrus, and tropical fruit with a int of garlic. Finish is herbal with light caramel and pineapple sweetness.

M: Medium light body with moderate carbonation, and a somewhat dry finish with a long lasting bitterness.

O: Overall not bad, but a bit behind the pack.
