On tap at Voodoo Homestead

Medium amber-brown color with a very thin beige head.

Smell is dominated by blueberry and whiskey: sweet, fresh blueberries lead followed closely by smoking wet hay and charred oak.

Taste is primarily the barrel aged presence. Lots of whiskey, hay, charred oak, barrel, some bitter oat flavor in the background. But all of this is pleasantly complemented by faint sweet blueberries. This is unique.

Feel is sort of an enigma. It's not thin, but it is. For an oatwine, I'd expect more mouthfeel, but it's by no means weak. Some slight alcohol heat is pleasing.

Overall. This is a unique offering from Voodoo. The whiskey barrel-aging really comes through with sweet blueberries. I totally dig it.

L: light amber. Bit of off white head.
S: light sweetness from the blueberry with the whiskey barrel in the back ground.
T: Sweetness with the major hit from the rye whiskey. Boozy towards the end, which is expected.
F: light thickness.
O: This tastes just as the name describes. It has some tartness from the blueberry, is on the lighter side, and is well balanced with the booze and whiskey flavor. Voodoo's barrel program really does a top notch job with balancing some pretty extreme flavors. This is no different. Real nice offering here- give it a go.

Draft offering appears a clear copper color with faint cap that fades leaving a spotty head.

This smells somewhat like fruity to solvent perfume with booze and faint barrel character leading most of the nose.

The taste has a raw oak character and a bit of that previously mentioned perfume-like blueberry essence. Across the back is some lingering neutral oakiness and alcohol that doesnt have much to balance off.

This is medium in body with modest carbonation. I appreciate this beer for what its worth but in the grand scheme of things, its not my favorite Voodoo offering.
