This is an Imperial Stout that is of great strength and complexity. We then gently age that beer in Elaigh Craig 13 1/2 year old Bourbon Barrels for 6 months to 1 yr. and then primed and bottled to bottle condition for continued aging and celler life. Black Magick should be able to be aged up to about 5 years, to heighten the complexity and smooth nature of this beer.
First Black Magick brewed in Feb 2007. Released 2009. = 15% ABV

12oz undated bottle circa 2014.
Pours oily black with zero head or retention. Bourbon, vanilla, oak, chocolate in the nose. Full bodied with a slick, tacky mouthfeel. Bakers chocolate, Bourbon, char on the palate. Finishes boozy with lingering chocolate and char.

Super black, thin brown head. Aroma was bourbon for sure, but really hot like they dumped some actual bourbon into the beer itself.
Taste actually wasn't hot, good amount of chocolate malt yielding toffee like flavors and barrel goodness. Pretty impressive mouthfeel to hide this amount of heat. Dare I even call this underrated.

Still drinking well, showing some Sherry (oxidized) notes.
