look: 4.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 3 | overall: 4

Look: dark, small head, dissipates quickly

Nose: Brandy, toasted malt, some chocolate, a bit hot

Taste: Brandy, toasted malt, brandied cherries, cacao. Long finish

Feel: somewhat thin

Definitely a good barrel aged stout but not exceptional.

This one pours a formidable looking dark black color, with a small head and not much lacing.

This smells absurdly good - sweet fruity brandy, a bit of bourbon leather, tobacco, deep fudge, grape jam, caramel, espresso, roast, oak and smoke.

The brandy adds an intriguing earthy sweetness to the all killer/no filler base beer - grape jam and caramel. There’s a touch of spicy bourbon too, and a deep dark fudgy goodness. There’s a wisp of oak, too. This is yet another incredible BM variant.

This is thick and chewy, and oh so smooth, with a surprisingly decent drinkability.

These barrels really transformed the beer into something complex and wonderful.
