330 ml gusher bottle, as Urthel Vlaemse Bock, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 7.5%. Cloudy dark brown colour, large to moderate off-white head. Malty and slightly sickly sweetish aroma, notes of molasses, oak and dark dried fruits. Rich malty flavour, sweet but not extreme, notes of caramel, molasses and brown kandij sugar. Minimal hops.

Completely, utterly flat. No carbonation or head.

This was completely flat. It poured with some sediment to fall to the bottom and opaque not clear. Rusty brown. Big loose tan bubbles that burst upon hitting the glass. No head. Good nose that had everything it should. Tempting firm caramel, soft sweet bread, fruity from dark fruits and an ester or two from yeast. Tasted ok except it was washed out watery with no bubbles. The mouthfeel was flat and the flavors also fell flat. No finish and a mild linger from dark fruits. The malts all wasted in the swallow. Touch of warmth from the alcohol shows up here.

Pours a deep amber color with a soapy, slightly off white head. Sediment reserved in the bottle, there was not too much. The aroma has Belgian yeast and dark fruits paired with molasses. In the taste, distinct fruity Urthel yeast strain with big dark fruit notes. Date, fig and raisin rule the day here. Bready but also very fruity and quite enjoyable. Dark fruits and sticky brown sugar. Full bodied, well carbonated ale. Finishes clean and a bit fruity with a slightly chalky yeast. Overall, this is a stellar example of a Belgian Strong Dark Ale.
