a saison and belgian blond hybrid here, cloudy and pale, but still quite brightly yellow colored, and with a very airy and lasting white head on it, it looks lovely. aromatically its a little curious, more belgian yeast than saison yeast from what i gather, but with a bigger wheat malt base, a slight staleness and green bottle skunk, although this is in brown glass. same wight he taste, a touch of stale malt, but the yeast is the main flavor agent here. its a cool complexion, unconventional and definitely efficient, its super dry in the finish, has really cleaned up any sugar, and maintains a very drinkable alcohol content unlike so many of the belgian strong pales and blondes. what i don't like is the apparent lack of freshness. these beers so frequently travel poorly, or don't end up on shelves until they are already fading. such is definitely the case with this one, although i can see its potential and like it quite a bit. summery stuff i will have to revisit again when i can confirm its freshness.

Poured in a Pilsner glass from a 11.2 oz bottle, reviewed live.

A- Very thick white fluffy head. Four finger head. Some soapy linger and a two minute retention. Clouded amber color, yeasty remnants at the bottom. Nice steady but subtle carbonation.

S- Grainy smell, wheat and rye possibly? Slight hint of booziness. Some malty and sugary notes as well.

T- Malty and very sweet. Not like any other saison I've had before but very drinkable.

M- Grainy and light bodied. Mediocre carbonation.

O- Drinkable but not all that great. Glad I tried it though.

Poured from bottle into Belgian style tulip. Light amber color, clear with noticeable presence of yeast. Pours a massive 3 finger head with strong retention.

Smells of orange, clove kind of sweet with slight Peppery overtones from Belgian yeast. Very inviting.

Taste is much less complex than the aroma but has tastes of the same overtones.. Finishes clean with some hops aftertaste. Flavor just isn't very complex, even for the Abv level. Missed out here.

Mouthfeel is lighter than expected a bit creamy with a quick clean finish, well balanced. Slight carbonation noted in feel but no much.

This is a nice beer to grab with some friends after work. Not a session beer but not as big as other saisons I've had in flavor.

Not my first choice but I enjoyed it. The aroma and mouthfeel was the best part of the experience but thought it missed on flavor.

Had that nice funkiness that makes a saison a saison. No spices, which I generally prefer for the style. Served from a bottle with no freshness date into a tulip glass.

A: Brilliantly light golden, surprisingly clear - virtually no haze, maybe the yeast settled out due to chilling & age? Fluffy white head.

S: Funky, a little fruity (grape, melon? can't put my finger on it), and white pepper. Some others mentioned clove - the sweetness/fruit that I noticed may actually be more clove, though it is very light.

T&M: Lightly funky, relatively clean. I found the taste to be a little light compared to the aromas, which, while light, were more forward. Spritzy and light mouthfeel. Just enough earthy hop bitterness to balance out the grain. No real hop contribution otherwise.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one, I could put a few back. It is a little light in yeast and hop character, in my opinion, but that might be more to style for the Belgian saisons. Still very refreshing, I would have liked a little more zip from the hops and some more complexity from the yeast. Again though, perfect for a summer day. A real porchrocker.
