Appearance: Meringue-white head, fairly solid yet rough and spotty, above a plain, yellow-orange body.

Smell: Pale malts with a light fruity sweetness and a touch of sour bread, offset by a mild, herbal hop character.

Taste: Distractingly metallic - not at first, but the taste of coins comes in mid-sip and lingers on beyond the finish. Besides that it's fairly plain but not too bad, with a nice bitter/dry German Pilsener-like edge, put together from light malts and mildly spicy, resinous hops.

Mouthfeel: Very dry, very light, and well-carbonated; not too fizzy (but far from flat).

Drinkability: Pretty good! A refreshing, if flawed and unremarkable, light lager.

Presentation: Small 25cl (8oz +/-) brown bottle. - Brasserie Jupiler Brouwerij

Appearance: Crystal clear, yellow straw colour with a fine white lace.

Smell: A bit grassy from the hops, probably aged Saaz hops, very mellow and distinct. Touch of pale malt aroma.

Taste: Very light, crisp, smooth with a touch of mouth coating diacetyl. Faint malt flavour, grassy bitterness, turning dry at the end. Cotton mouth finish, which is not pleasant.

Notes: Not too bad. Not fantastic either, but, we would definitely not dump this.

Had this several times in Belgium. It was commonly served in small, ridged glasses which would raise the fingers from the glass surface and keep the beer cooler, for longer. Not a bad brew, refreshing.

This seemed to be the swill of Brussels ... beer for the masses though few real cafes carried it.

33cl bottle. Pale golden with a white head. A typical Belgian pale ale aroma with a mediocre taste.

25 cl bottle wth a twist cap.
This is a very enjoyable beer. Maybe it's because this is my first beer after a long day of hiking. Or maybe it's because I am drinking it from a seaside balcony in southern Crete. Or perhaps I've had too many mediocre Euro Pale lagers lately. It any case, it has a light, citrusy flavor that is quite refreshing. I do wish it was bolder, but it is certainly more enjoyable than the BA rating suggests.

This poured to a decent light and bright golden yellow with a small head that quickly faded. There's no lace.

The smell isn't very good, but still not as offensive as some others in this style. The taste follows that up in a similar manner. Hops come through in the wrong sort of way, and it's definitely too sharp in the mouth.

Looks good poured the standard Belgian bar way, 2-finger head scraped off at the top. Light hop scent. Great beer for an all night social event, nothing too serious here, very fresh and dry, even tinny. Like its sister brands (Stella, Maes, Martens, etc.), soft texture and goes down fast. My personal choice for a fun night out.
