Poured into a pint glass.

A: Hazy light amber with a few tiny bubbles and a one-finger, white, fizzy head that lasted a minute. Okay lacing.

S: Bready and sweet caramel malt. Citrus hops and spice.

T: Moderate sweetness and a moderate hop bitterness. Very piney bitterness. Flavors seems a bit off, but not bad.

M: Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Very smooth and refreshing.

O: Pretty solid APA, but I just couldn't get past the flavor being a bit off.

12 ounce bottle, with bottled on dating on the label but its unreadable, oh well. Pours dark honey amber, cloudy with sediment, off white head, leaving some fine lacing. Wiff of hops picked up as well as some smokey honey type odors. This is a medium bodied, drinkable ale. Certaintly nothing special, but a decent everyday type of beer. More honey, moderate hops and a wisp of smoke in the finish, respectable sessioner nothing more, nothing less

Appearance: minimal head, amber in color, clear, high carbonation

Smell: toffee and meadow

Taste: sweet toffee and caramel start followed by earthy hops. The finish blends both tastes.

Mouthfeel: moderate carbonation, very light bodied, sweet start with a bitter middle and a less bitter end

Overall: An average apa that I could get again or just as easily pass over. I think what may be missing is more body. this I found to be way too light even for the style.

Big thanks to NJpadreFan for the brew!

12oz. brown bottle poured into an imperial pint.

A: Pours a glowing, orange tinted amber. Moderate head on the pour that retains a skim and lets off pretty decent lacing.

S: Not much hop presences to speak of and only a bit of lightly sweet cereal grains.

T/M: The bitterness is a bit weaker than I'd like in an APA but probably still within range. Not much citrus, grass/flower, or hop flavor at all. Malts have a bit of sweetness along with the cereal grains and a touch of light toffee. Body is medium with smooth carbonation.

D: Drinks pretty easy and low ABV. Flavor is somewhat uninspiring, though.

Cricket Hill- American Ale

Appearance- hazy reddish brown with a moderate head. Lacing half way down.
Smell- Sweet caramel malt with a touch of fruit and floral hops.
Taste- Just like it smells. Floral hops and a sweet fruit flavor are blended with a caramel malt. Flavor really bursts in the end.
Mouthfeel- Sweet up front but turning to smooth with a slight dry finish,

Overall- A pleasent surprise here. Cricket Hill puts out decent offerings. Definitely worth trying if visiting or passing through New Jersey.

Very fresh from Super Saver. A small head on amber body. Citrus Hops and malt in aroma. Significantly Fruity and malty followed by a bland bitterness in the finish. Light roast in aftertaste that doesn't add anything for me. For seriously hot days only. Bit above average carbonation.

A copper body is topped by a very nice creamy head of off-white foam that exhibits excellent retention and leaves some very nice lace at the outset. Fresh, citrusy and grassy hops mingle with lightly grainy malt in a nose that's clean and inviting. The body is medium, and it's crisp on the tongue with a very fine carbonation that accentuates it's bitterness. Hops rush at you from the get go - grassy, mineral/metallic, and mildly citrusy. The lightly caramelish malt is noteable at the outset, but becomes drier and more straw-like as you progress through the glass and hops build on the palate. It finishes with a short lived note of lightly sweet caramel that receeds to leave it quite dry with a solid, lingering bitterness and a combination of dusty floral & grassy hops. It's quite nice as it is, but I'd really love to try this cask-conditioned at cellar temperature!

Picked up a single from Abe's. Yes, it is an American pale ale, but there's very little distinguishable about it. There's a share of piney citrus and dry grain in the background, but nothing stands out besides the occasional, and unpleasant husky taste. I appreciate that the body and alcohol are more in line with a session ale, unlike so many overblown pale ales, but this beer just doesn't do it for me. Maybe it would be interesting on cask.

A little dark for a a pale ale. It has kind or an orange, amber color to it.

It has a faint citrus smell.

The taste is of sweet malts and finishes with a mild citurs hop bitternes.

The flavor is good, but my first few swallows had a slight metalic taste. The metalic taste went away after the beer warmed up a bit.

Got this one from jcwattsrugger via jwc215, cheers to all! Average head retention & lacing

Pours amber/copper with 1 finger of sand colored head.

S: Some citric hops & a touch of biscuitty malt

T: Bready, with floral & citric hops up front. Some dryness, brown sugar & a touch of grainyness as this warms, plus a touch of apricot. Finishes with citric & piney hops on the back of the throat

MF: Medium bodied with low carbonation, balances okay, some more hops wouldn't've hurt

Drank easy, nothing too complex here, but worth a few pints

Single picked up in a six mixer, and poured into a pint glass.

Pours medium copper, penny colored. Good head of foam rings around. Bready malt nose, much toffee. Taste is a sweet caramel with a nice hop in the back. Quite bready. Light pine in the background. Really good.

Presentation: Poured into regular pint glass

Appearance: Hazy copper without much lacing and only a half finger head

Smell/Taste: Very bready, with a hint of poms and apricots

Mouthfeel/Drinkability: Medium bodied, and could drink this all day.

Overall: An easy drinking example of the American Pale Ale style, though I think it's bordering on amber.

Pours a dark cloudy amber with a small off white head, Aroma of caramel malt some floral hops. Taste is caramel malt, barley and light hops. Palate is light to med body, light carbonation. Finish is sweet caramel malts with some light hoppiness to add some balance, Overall seems to be light for the style of amber ale, could be more flavorful. An ok and easy drinking brew

A: Poured a pastel orange with a light haze and a uniform state of effervesce that was moderately spaced and moderately rising. Overall the visual appeal was a bit macro in its presentation, both color and head retention wise which was less then fair leading me to believe that maybe cricket has slipped back to their old ways after a promising breakthrough with their Nocturn.

S: A nice hop spiciness of oranges and citrus is found on the nose. Moderate in strength overall, but fairly impressive style wise treading near pale ale proportions.(which was later changed to apa after review). Fresh and wet with a touch of freshly brewed lemonade appears on the close.

T: Spicy citrus and fresh juicy grapefruit notes come through sharply and upfront which is followed by a nice grainy sweetness. A flowery dry citrus changes the pace moving in along with notes of dry oranges and pine. Crisp with a good deal of hoppiness per style this beer continues to get better after a fairly weak start.

M: Crisp with a tight bubbly effervesce tingles the tongue. A pretty full experience along with an oily texture.

D: A good session style American ale with a good amount of hoppiness keeps things interesting, Until Nocturn I haven't been really impressed with this brewery's offerings, but they are slowly making progress. While it won't wow the die hard craft beer hunter, I think this makes for a decent drinker per style and should get favorable results if brought along to a party setting as it is easy to consume, yet still has enough hop quality to keep things interesting.

The beer poured a clear copper color with a slight, off-white head. The foam lacing along the sides of the glass. The aroma was slightly malt with a citrus hop. It was not overpowering so just seemed a little better than average. The taste was evenly balanced between the hops and malt, not overly dry and bitter. I found the slight citrus tang appealing, but I expected something more from this style. The mouthfeel was decent, well carbonated. I would definitely try this beer again.
