Thanks to queens1130 for sharing this one at GRG1313's tasting.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, bourbon, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with sweet cocoa and fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast and wood bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above averge beer that is drinkable but only has barrel aged qualities in the smell to me.

Bomber into a medium-sized Duvel tulip. Thanks to Tony for sharing.
A: Black with brown highlights under a thin but solid cap of fine brown foam. The head is fleeting, but does settle into a nice ring, and leaves a touch of sparse lace. Not bad at all.
S: Roasty chocolate malt, pure and simple. A hint of spicy alcohol complements it nicely, but where's the barrel?
T: Smooth and tasty, with chocolate, spice, and vanilla. Perhaps a touch of oakiness on the finish, but this is all about the malt. Good, but a little short of interesting.
M: Medium body, moderate, creamy carbonation. Nice.
O: It's always exciting to try a new BBA stout (especially from a brewery that just entered the CT market), but this one was nothing to sustain any sort of enthusiasm. It's not bad in the least, but it falls far short of meeting expectations.
Cheers!
