Always love Mello Mushroom. Great food! Their pizza is always fantastic. Service was good and the tap list has greatly improved at this location. Still has lots of BMC stuff but several regional craft options now too. NOLA Mechahopzilla stood out this time as well as some Hattiesburg brews that I haven't had before.

I convinced a group of co-workers to hit this place up for dinner/drinks.

As usual the Mushroom delivered. Great tap selection (although some of the other MMs have more and better) especially for Jackson, MS. I guess the 6% law sort of throttles the options - no heavyweights here.

We tried 4 different pizzas (magical mystery tour, ceasar, kosmic karma, and house special) they were all great. The server was awesome and kept them coming and paid attention to our large crowd - no complaints only compliments from everyone.

The decor was unique to this location, and in typical MM fashion. A good place for BA as well as the non BA crowd.

The pizza here is really tasty and the service is very good most of the time. I have never eaten here during the weekend just Wednesday's before church from time to time. This place is very family oriented.

The few times I've been here I usually stick to the German wheat beers. They seem to carry a decent array of them as they are generally modest in alcohol content and therefore under the 6.2 Mississippi ABV limit. It would be great to see that change but thanks to Dean Kirby (a senator in the same county as this restaurant) that will not happen this year. I have decided to boycott all Rankin County establishments henceforth until this cap is broken. Sorry Mellowmushroom that means you too.

Overall if you're in the area this is a good place ot grab a decent pizza and a wheat beer. Don't expect it to be cheap - in fact it's somewhat expensive for what you get.

Mellow Mushroom in Flowood, MS. Some friends and I usually gather once a month for a "beer-together" and this used to be our spot. It probably will get back on the list soon.

The selection is one of the best in metro Jackson, but that is not saying a whole lot, due to our 6.0% ABV limit. Rogue, Abita, John Courage, Lazy Magnolia are just a few of the breweries represented by their tap wall.

The food is good, but a bit pricey for pizza. They use all natural ingredients (much like craft brewers- so paying a bit more is not out of line).

The service is always good, however they discontinues their Happy Hour a few months ago, much to my dismay. This also contributed to our group opting for another drafthouse.

We got a big disappointment here. It took us a while to find it, so when we did, we had quite a thirst. we got a look at the beer list, and much to our dismay, they only had about 8-10 beers on tap and the abita was dry. Others were macro's and Killians(killians? come on. They did have a Magnolia Hazelnut brown ale on tap that was quite good, but when my was asking about the SNPA and the Dead guy, she ended up ordering the SNPA. The unfriendly waitress brought here the Dead Guy. We didn't feel like making a fuss.

We got food, but it was average.

The coolest thing was the decor and the little door for the kids.

I would skip this place, even if i lived in town.

Mellow Mushroom, though a chain, is awesome. The GA Tech boys did right when they created this place. Very good pizza and a very respectable taproom. Probably 75% or more non-macro with about 20 taps on the wall.

They seem to rotate their taps somewhat regularly, so I think they definitely pay attention to the beer. I've never had a disappointing pint here.

Want good pizza with a better than average draught seletion in the Jackson area? Mellow Mushroom would come highly recommended. It's located in one of the area's booming retail locations, so it's an outstanding place to drop in and have a pint or three while the wife/mother/significant other gets some shopping done.
