Bottle: Poured alight reddish color ale with a small foamy head with light retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of vinous and oak notes with light tart notes is somewhat messy. Taste is also a mix of vinous notes with some tart note san da weird funky finish. Body is about average with low carbonation. Not bad but some weird funky notes with not enough carbonation for my taste.

Poured from a 750ml bottle, bottled 150813.

A gusher from the get-go, before even pouring in. Lots of foam obviously, nice amber body, rush of bubbles racing up. Aroma is vinegary with a sweet edge. Very effervescent, strong vinegar overtones but doesn`t linger enough and segues too fast into a dry finish. Good for sure but i prefer the Belgian traditional ones.

Bottle consumed at DDC in Montreal. This is a Flanders Red aged in red wine barrels for 24 months.

Beer is clear red in colour, with a large snow white head. Very fizzy, fades away quite quickly.

Nose has a strong berry scent, mainly cherry. Balsamic vinegar and oak are also prominent.

The flavour is very nice. Balsamic vinegar, cherry, strawberry, oak and vanilla. All flavours wrapped up very well together. Sour, but lightly so for the style. The fruitiness reminds me of Rodenbach's Caractere Rouge.

Mouthfeel is the problem with this beer. Crazily overcarbonated. I waited on the bottle for awhile to see if it would calm down - it didn't; at least, not enough. Medium to full bodied. The body really makes this feel like soda, which is a shame.

Overall, the taste is very good, but it is incredibly hard to get past the carbonation to taste it! If the bubbles could be calmed down, this would be an excellent beer. As it is, still very good.
