La Buteuse from le trou du diable, bought a 600 ml bottle for 6,99$
Look: Hazy dark orange colour, half of white head retaining.
Smell: Banana, citrus, grapefruit,
Taste: Same as the smell, but you have a bit of bitterness
Feel: Medium body, light to medium carbonation, now the thing that turn me off a bit is the sensation of alcohol burn when the beer go down. A bit of a turn off to be honest, I know its a 10% ABV but I had 12% one and it didn t feel like it.
So overall would I recommend it? Sure, a nice tripel overall
Would I buy it again ? No I will still go for La Fin Du Monde from Unibroue and it is cheaper actually

Best beer I’ve been able to find in Canada, bar none. Found it by accident in a beer connoisseur’s store in Montreal, most disappointed the LCBO in Ontario discontinued carrying it in 2012...

A: Poured from the 600mL bottle into a tulip glass. The beer is a hazy dark orange color with a thin fizzy head and a bit of carbonation inside. Head did not last very long.
S: Banana bread, clove, citrus rind, apricot, bread, Belgian yeast. Alcohol well hidden. Lots of citrus throughout but also a nice malty backbone.
T: Smooth on the palate with a balanced character that is refreshing for a tripel style brewed outside of Belgium. Plenty of fruit and citrus. Spices throughout. Finishes with a bit of honey and citrus rind.
Overall: A solid offering from a good brewery in Quebec. Recommended in the region.

When you make a beer and the bottle, you will come up with unmistakable aromas and you know you're in front of a very good beer. It is a mystery to me the secret of why Quebec wants to make both good beers. All a pleasure!

Golden with a copper tinge, and tons of yeast particles floating within like a 60’s lava lamp. Topped with 2 fingers of white head.
Smells of Belgian phenols, bananas and cloves, and cedar wood notes.
Tastes strongly of bitterness and sweetness, with a hint of acrid, along with Belgian phenols, hints like barrel aging (although there’s no evidence it has been barrel aged) and finishes with a bitter crunch. The flavours meld together, and it feels like a bunch of out of place, overdone tastes that are all so equal in their presence that it folds together and works to make it a complete and mellowed composition. Its like a tapestry. I get hints of corn on the end.
Medium but strong body, it hits the tongue like a laser beam that mellows and doesn’t do damage but only serves to awaken the taste buds. Moderate carbonation, also spice like.
Got this in Gatineau a couple days ago, I’m drinking it in St Jean Port Joli Dec 23rd, 2017. I love the bottle, as it takes me back history, and the beard which is pretty cool. The overall composition is well done.
