Look: Tiny hazy golden colour.
Smell: Grapefruit, pine, grassy notes
Taste: Same as a smell, malt, citrus.
Feel, medium body and medium carbonation. Easy drinking, very smooth but you have that bitterness from an IPA that I don t like. It's a 30 IBU but feels its a bit more like 40-45 because the bitterness is there . That's like an West Coast IPA type pf bitterness.
So overall would I recommend it ? Sure, nice overall but as a pale ale it has more on that bitterness on the back end of the tongue. Personally it did turn me off a bit.
Would I buy it again ? No

600 mL bottle from the LCBO; "EMB Apr 29 2020" and served slightly chilled. My French is weak at best, but that's gotta be a bottling/packaging date, as the French term for 'bottling' starts with 'emb'.
Pours a little foggy, producing nearly a finger of frothy, soapy white head that dissipates within several minutes. An unassuming collar of foam remains in place, encircling a large island of suds; a modest coat of lacing has also been left behind. The aroma is muted, but pleasant enough - I'm getting a hint of cantaloupe and indistinct citrus, as well as notes of clean, grainy pale malts and some earthy, leafy hops.
The aroma tells you most of the story ahead of time, with notes of melon coming through first, alongside some robust, grainy pale malt flavours. Hints of citrus, apricot, gooseberry and caramelized sugars by mid-sip, with the profile drifting toward hoppier notes of floral, grassy, lightly earthy bitterness at the finish. Hints of doughy sweetness and mellow tropical fruits persist briefly into the aftertaste, which dries itself out soon enough. Medium in body, with light carbonation that gently agitates the palate, providing a bit of crispness to this otherwise smooth-textured pale ale.
Final Grade: 3.88, a B+. MacTavish in Memoriam is a well-made pale ale, but not necessarily one of the most interesting ones I've tried over the years. The balance between the hops and the malts is about perfect, which makes it very quaffable - I polished off my glass with little effort, and in the end I was left satisfied... nothing more, nothing less. I'd consider picking this up again in a more convenient format, but $6 for a 'merely' good pale ale is kinda steep to be honest. Format aside, this one is worth trying at least once, just like all of the other TdD brews I've sampled.

Light gold, slightly hazy appearance with a thick creamy head sitting atop. Smell is a very faint hoppy and grassy aroma. The taste Is grassy, a bit hoppy with nothing unbecoming about it. Mouthfeel is very good with the before-mentioned head still on top as I write this. This is a very good all around beer. My only complaint is that, being brewed in Quebec, there is not a word of English on the bottle. I didn’t even know what style of beer it was when I bought it. Thank God for BA

600 ml bottle served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for $5.95 CDN. Date stamped EMB April 29, 2020. Not sure if that means its fresh or past its prime.
Appearance - Mildly hazy rusty golden color. Two plus fingers of huge frothy white head with great staying power. Lots of spidery lacing left at the edges of the glass.
Smell - Gentle graininess, little bit of a spicy and earthy hop aroma. Pretty subdued.
Taste - Some graininess with earthy hop flavor. Not a whole lot going on but subtle and easy drinking. Nuanced with some nuttiness even.
Mouthfeel - Grainy and slightly uneven body, but works with the flavor profile. Carbonation is pretty high and finish is medium dry. Body is moderate too.
Overall - A fine beer to belly up to the bar and order a pint or three, there is some tasty nutty nuance that stands out a little bit. Otherwise the hopping is moderate not too bold and a welcome break from some of the fruit and juice bombs out there. Across the pond in character in that it is put together so nicely as opposed to having less dimensions.

Pours cloudy pale gold colour with one finger head leaving a faint residue throughout the session. The sweet malts balances off the hops which is further counter-balanced with tropical flavours and aromas. Medium carbonation and bitterness. Nice overall beer.

Golden color with a small head but constant. Tropical fruit flavor, the hops dominate the malt but it's not overwhelming. Taste more like an Indian Pale Ale, solid beer that I will buy again.

Darker amber color. Hazy. A single finger head which leaves only a few spots for lace.
Leans to the crystal malt for the smell. The hop provides nice balance without being distinct.
The malt is brief but pronounced. The hop is strong but not overwhelming. The body leans rich but the carbonation is also elevated. The finish and aftertaste leans hoppy but it's still well balanced.
