A: The beer is cloudy reddish brown in color and poured with a finger high dense off white head that slowly died down and never completely faded away. A slight amount of carbonation is visible.
S: There are aromas of caramel, malty sweetness and toffee in the nose along with notes of juniper.
T: The juniper stands out but these are well incorporated into the overall taste, which also seems to have a bit of spicy and woody flavors in the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied and very smooth on the palate with a moderate to high amount of carbonation. There is a slight amount of dryness in the finish.
D: The beer is very drinkable for the style because the juniper flavors do not overwhelm the palate.

Hazy, dark amber color with tan head. Aroma has sweet caramel malt, brown sugar but also an astringent note. Taste startssweet with brown sugar and dried fruit notes, gets more bitter in the middle taste with some earthy/woody flavor and finishes even more bitter with a lingering charred wood note. Medium body with medium to low carbonation. Overall it's an interesting style of beer but not something to really seek out.

Poured form 0.5-L bottle into straight-sided mug. Appearance of watered-down cola, not much carbonation. Aroma reminiscent of a doppelbock, with notes of dark bread, caramel, and prunes. Taste follows the nose, with some bitterness from the juniper and a touch of tartness on the finish. Overall, quite an interesting and complex brew.

A - Translucent brown body, very little head, definite lacing.
S - Molasses, bready malts, and a very pungent alcohol note.
T - Following nose, with a big dark bread, a strong molasses line, and a tail of slight bitterness and alcohol.
M - Moderate body, warming on the close.
O - Not, perhaps, my thing, but very well structured, and flavorful.

Bottle: Poured a clear brown color ale with a medium size off-white head with OK retention. Aroma of roasted malt is mostly dominant with some vague spice notes. Taste is dominated by roasted malt notes with light dry caramel and some distant spices notes. Body is light with medium carbonation. I thought this was short on character and not something I would seek again.
