I'll be honest I wasn't expecting much as Lynchburg is Jerry Falwell town, so my review may be scewed abit b/c of that. Also I changed a flat just before going to this store and this store made me forget the flat. Again maybe a scewed review. Anyway I was very impressed!
The store is very neat with lot's of wine and fine chocolates, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a wine first place. It has a very good beer selection. There is much that we can't get in NC. All of the currently available Stone lineup to the best of my knowledge. Many Bear Republic Beers as well as 3 Floyds. Some Dogfish Head beers not available in NC. As well as a good selection of the typical Belgiums, Imports, and Micros I assume you find in other parts of VA. The best part is that you can break up any sixer and mix your own and receive a discount for doing so. The service was very helpful but I wouldn't consider her a beer person. She was able to steer me right to the beers I asked for.
I rated it inexpensive b/c I got 2 Stone RIS, 1 Stone Ruination, 1 Bear Republic XP(all 22's); and 1 Alpha King, 1 New River PA(12's) for less than my wife's limit of 20$.
If ever around the Lynchburg area I recommend you try this place out. This will become a must stop when I visit my brother in law who lives in Lynchburg.

This is a small establishment, they recently moved to a new address on Rivermont next to a small gourmet shop. The beer selection was relatively small (yet very good considering the town), but what was there was excellent (again, considering the town). They had the full lineup from Stone, Dogfish Head, Rogue, and Southern Tier, along with some assorted Belgians. There were absolutely no BMC selections, thankfully. The guy in charge of the beer room was very knowledgeable about beer and also very friendly. The place could get a lot better since it did just open. There is also a taproom and pizzeria in the basement with about 10 different taps, all well selected IMO. Definitely check it out when in town.

This is a breath of fresh air in an area where good beer is scarce and exceptional beer is basically nowhere-to-be-found with the exception of this place. A very good selection is available and at a much more-than-reasonable price. Buy as much or as few as you want with mix-packs available and encouraged. Selections that usually come only in bombers are found in 12 ozers that allow you to sample selections at a very affordable option. The only downfall was the service as there were several staff members there that were busy sampling wine and didn't ever stop to ask for help. However once I had made my selections they were friendly and helpful at the counter. (This could have been a fluke if they were busy and next time I will adjust the rating accordingly) However, if you are in the area this a stop that you must make and you won't leave empty handed.

I had heard good things about this little store/restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. They have a very good selection of micros, especially for its size/location. For Lynchburg, this is quite the place to buy specialty beers you won't find in other stores. I would highly recommend Vines to anyone looking for a good brew. It won't have the selection that some of the big box stores such as Total Wine has but that can't be expected. Check it out if you're in the area. It's in the same shopping center as Mudpuppy's.

This place was a very cool place to go. You walk in and there are single bottle beers, four packs, and six packs all along the sides and on racks. Yoly beu can go get an empty six pack or a four pack and then your can mix and match whatever you want. It doesn't even matter the size of the bottle whether it is a 22ozer or an 8ozer they will take them all together as a six pack and then they will take ten percent off. So I got out of there with a mix and match six pack for $9.50 which might seem like a lot but i also got two top fifty beers, old rasputin and old horizontal. I wil definite back to this place in the future. I recomend going here for a great variety.

I go to college near this place and in the three years that I have been in Lynchburg, this is the only place I have found that has mircobrews and imports. Although it is foremost a wine store, they have a rather decent selection of beer. They have it broken up into a few sections like domestic micros, then English, German, Belgian, and then a few others thrown together. Their prices are interesting because you actually get a discount (10%) if you piece together your own 6-pack. I'm not sure if this is common in stores like this or not but I find it to be awesome. A friend and I go every monday and pick out 6 beers we want to try and nab the 10% off and only spend around 8-9 bucks.

The staff is very friendly, we knew most of them by name just by going in there once a week for a month or so. They are helpful too, if there is something we see on here that catches our interest we can pass it on to them and they can almost always get us a few bottles of it. The only problem really is that the store keeps awful hours. I believe it is open only till 5 on mondays and 7 on the other days and closed on sundays entirely. I do love this place though.
