32oz growler from Barrel and Barley (Woodstock, GA). 6.50 Served in a Terrapin snifter.

Pours dark brown with about one finger of tan head. A thin halo remains with tiny wisps across the surface. Very little lace.

Roasty aroma with mostly coffee and touches of caramel and faint burnt toast.

Huge dominating taste of espresso. Peeking theough all the coffee are notes of dark cocoa, dark fruit skins, burnt sugars, toast and roast malts. This is the delicious coffee flavor that I have only seen from Terrapin but in a smaller package than Wake n Bake. Goes down easily without a hint of alcohol.

Mildly creamy, medium body with fizzy but not overpowering carbonation. Bittersweet espresso, roastiness and fruit skin finish that lingers on the palate.

I'm often wary of Belgian stouts but this is almost exactly what I was hoping for. The Belgian aspect adds the bittersweet fruit skins for a nice compliment to the coffee. Too bad the two breweries decided not to bottle any of this. If you like coffee forward stouts try it if/while you can.
