From the neck of the bottle in blue ink: "PKG ON 12/19/19B"

Appearance: The body of the beer is a medium shade of copper. There is a slight haze to the beer. The head is medium-sized, white, and fluffy. It has very good head retention. Very good lacing.

Aroma: There is a light bit of pine aroma to the beer. There is a hint of biscuit. The aromas are nice but they are not very strong.

Taste: There is a nice pine flavor to the beer.

Mouthfeel: It is on the low end of medium-bodied with just a light slickness on the tongue. It has very good bitterness and carbonation feels right.

Overall: It is a nice IPA with a good pine-like flavor and excellent bitterness. It isn't the most robust or complex IPA but it is enjoyable. I could drink it again, especially if it's available at a restaurant. The beer would pair well with anything from tacos to a roast beef sandwich. I would recommend it if you're looking for a solid IPA for a party or get-together.

From the bottle, it pours a slightly hazy amber with a modest head that soon diminishes and leaves a bit of lacing. In the nose, it is a bit of citrus and malt. In the mouth, it is pineapple and some malt. Nice!

I thought this was an aromatic but easy drinking IPA. However, I would have liked a little bit more flavor.

Look: semi-clear golden with a finger thick white head

Aroma: caramel, grapefruit, and pine. Fairly aromatic.

Taste: It is malty grains some caramel, citrus particularly grapefruit, maybe some pine at least in the aroma. However. For an IPA it is mild, good but mild.

Body/Overall: light to medium body, easy drinking

Look: It pours golden with a slight off white head.

Smell: It has aromas of citrus, grapefruit and floral. There is a very low grainy sweetness in the background.

Taste: It has a balance of grainy sweet malt, citrus, floral, and grapefruit. There are very low background caramel elements with some bread.

Feel: It has a moderate body with a slight slickness to it. It is mildly bitter.

Overall, it has some decent flavors but this reminds me more of an american pale ale on the lighter side than an ipa.

Citrusy IPA that isn’t terris Lee overall as a beer but off as what is expected of an IPA. Name also misleading. Northern Lights implies a more bitter beer. Southern Cross would have been better.

12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip glass.

L---Somewhat hazy. Dark orange/light amber color. Nice white head that quickly dissipated into a cap and left surprisingly good lacing.

S---Very mild aroma. Light floral notes and light tropical fruits.

T---Follows the nose. Nothing outstanding. Mild fruit & floral taste. Perhaps some grapefruit & orange, but nothing very forward.

F---Watery. Light feel with good carbonation.

O---This falls short of the flavor and overall oomph I expect from an IPA. I'll pass in the future.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Nearly clear golden orange pour. 2 fingers of white head. Nice ring of lacing.

S: Toasted grains, citrus, and piney hops.

T/F: Follows the nose. Lightly toasted grains... mild caramel give way to a spice and citrus hop profile. Mild evergreen. Somewhat sweet but modest bitterness to balance. Light bodied and well carbonated.

O: Nothing fancy, but a solid everyday IPA.

An aggressive pour resulted in a white, two finger head that didn't stick around long. The beer was amber copper - looked enticing. Nose is pine and taste is citrus. Mouth feel was great, super easy to drink.

On tap, it was not an exceptional IPA, but certainly enjoyable. Not overwhelmingly bitter or piney.
Bottled: Well balanced malt and hops, very drinkable.

If you're not a huge fan of IPAs and are going to have one, this isn't a bad choice as it's a bit more malty, balanced and easy drinking compared to standard issue for the style. Conversely, I would certainly not recommend it to IPA lovers, but it was nice enough for me as the black sheep in a seasonal sampler pack with 3 other malty beers.

This is an awesome IPA I give it a overall of 4. Give this one a try if you do not normally like IPA's you will like this one.

Pours a clear copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Decent retention and good lacing. Smells of piney hops, slight spicy hops, hint of citrus hops, and sweet malt. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level and noticeable bitterness. Tastes of piney hops, slight spicy hops, hint of caramel malt, hint of alcohol, hint of citrus hops, and sweet malt. Overall, good feel, blend, body, and welcome distinct style variety of hops.

Looks nice, hazy orange / amber with a quickly receeding light tan head. Scent is of light caramel malt with some spicy hops. Flavor melds pretty well, not too caramel flavored but sweet enough to work with the bitter hops. Maybe the slightest heat. Creamy mouthfeel with less carbonation. Pretty good and an interesting take on the IPA style.

Poured into a narrow pint glass: color is amber, head is of white to light tan, head presents 1/2 inch thick then dissipates to a top and laces.

Smell is heavily grassy, herbal hops, then some toast and light caramel.

Taste is a more malty style ipa: malt is toast, light caramel; hops are subtle, more herbal and earthy than 95% of IPAs.

Mouthfeel is pleasant, soft even, moderate carbonation.

Overall a good IPA, malty and herbal hops throw many off, but it works and tastes very good.

I'm going to be brief here: this one ain't good. Served on draft at Local Goat in Pigeon Forge TN.

Looks decent enough. Really dark for an IPA, looking more like an amber. Something not right about the flavor. Sweet and tangy, not hoppy. Aroma is nowhere near IPA level. Overall a huge disappointment. Not even close to an IPA.

Poured from a bottle into a glass.

IPAs are not my go-to, but I enjoyed this one a lot.

Clover honey colored, thin creamy head, nice lacing.
Smells sweet like a juicy grapefruit. One dimensional, but very aromatic.
Taste is similar, but with more hop bitterness and malty backbone.
A medium body, heavier that expected. It almost expands in the mouth. A little creamy.

Pours a clear deep amber with a foamy white head that coats the surface after it recedes. Medium lacing. Smells of fresh orange peel zest with some pine and a mild caramel malt undertone. Flavor is much the same, and I feel all of its sweetness is in the form of citrus like flavors. Feel is pretty nice; a little fuller in body than expected. Smooth, medium carbonation, and barely edges out balanced favoring bitter. Overall, this is a nice and easy to drink IPA and I enjoy its old skool qualities. A touch more bitter and I think this would be solid. Cheers!

Taste - Taste is very similar to the aroma with a little more citrus, orange peel grapefruit and pine. Nice flavors.

Feel - Medium bodied, well carbonated, slightly dry finish.

Overall - A solid IPA, nice malt flavors mixed well with citrus.

A thick, cloudy beer of a beautiful orange hue. Its head is thin, but very creamy. Its taste is restrained, yet full of citrus, pine, and barley flavors. Exceedingly easy to drink.

I'm not a big American IPA fan, but this is one I come back to often, partly because it is available in the grocrey store, but also because it it suits my taste better than many others. This is not a "West Coast" style IPA, and it is, in fact a pretty competent English-style pale ale with the IBUs turned up a notch or two.

The beer pours clear with a touch of opalescence. There's a nice early off-white head that quickly fades to a presistemt wreath. The color is light orangey-amber. The nose is subtle, but distinctly fruity with some very nice notes of lightly toasted malt. Hops fill out the aroma with resiny and citrusy bits. The flavor is mostly clean, but, again, with the fruity esters, medium body, and sweet malt of an English ale rather than the very neutral, dry, light-body typical of so many American editions. Hops are forward, as they should be in an IPA, but just as much as needed to provide balance and punch to a nicely fleshed-out malt profile.

I enjoy this beer quite a bit, and I'm glad it's easy to find in my neck of the woods.

Update.. Must have had a bad bottle earlier. This one was quite good. Smooth taste, hoppy but not overly, light wood and citrus. Still tempering expectations.

Look - a hazy orangish amber color with a creamy two-finger off-white head and some slight lacing.
Smell - bready malts, caramel, some faint notes of citrus.
Taste - barely any hop characteristics, mostly sweet malts, but it ends with vague citrus flavors.
Feel - carbonation is decent, but the body is thin.
Overall, this IPA is subpar with little to no hop aromas or flavors.

Poured from a tall boy to a shaker glass. Pour was dark amber with a thin white head about a finger deep. Smell was hops heavy, piney. Taste is light, nicely balanced hops that aren't too overpowering. This is not a hop heads IPA. Feel is on the thin side, there but not so much as other IPAs. Overall a decent IPA, very drinkable and pairs well with a number of meals, did not overpower pasta and seafood.

Attractive ruby-amber with off-white head leaving some lacing. Balanced nose of floral and piney hops. Taste is a good balance of hops and mild toffee malts. Mouthfeel slightly creamy but also a little thin. A fine IPA, hoppy but not bitter to the point of overkill. Quite nice; the more I drank the more I appreciated the balance.

Bottle date 2/29/16.

A foggy, reddish orange color. Big off-white foamy head. Some lacing.

Little to no aroma. A tocuh of citrusy hops, but mainly subdued malts.

Some sharp rind and all lemon a d grapefruit. An orange like sweetness. Bitter, slightly aspirin like aftertaste with floral hops.

Body is kind of syrupy and oily.

I know this is not the freshest of bottles, but I can't imagine 10-12 weeks having that much of an effect that it makes it a borderline average ipa. Just doesnt offer much.
