Pours a Franks Red Hot shade of orange, with an insanely bitchin amount of sediment. This is a real beer ladies and gentlemen. Aroma is very strong, tantalizing citrus and tropical fruits. The taste is where the train runs off the tracks. It tastes like a watered down version of the smell if that makes sense. Still has the citrus, it’s just not as strong. Mouthfeel pops.
It’s a decent beer but the taste fails to live up to the incredible look and aroma.

Really juicy and well made NEIPA. The one I’m drinking is 9 mo old and really is holding up exceptionally well.

I got a late start on this past Sunday's NBS (Week 774) & I did not finish up my DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure as planned. 8=( Further, I have promised that next week's NBS (Week 775) will be dedicated to the wonderful beers sent to me by @jkblr who seems to have a real handle on my drinking habits. CANsparency is key in these things! As a result, I am going to CANcentrate over the next few days on eradicating everything that would have CANbined to form the finale of the DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure. Sit down, strap in & hang on. It's gonna be a wild ride!
Speaking of wild, I am now shifting over to a couple of bottles! Nice pic, BTW! That guy really seems to know what he is doing. ;=)
From the Bottle: "Loaded with notes of juicy pineapple, mango and passion fruit, this IPA packs big hop aroma and flavor with minimal bitterness."; "Founded 1999 Charlottesville, VA".
I Pop!ped the cap & started up a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting brewery glass. The two old friends seemed happy to be reunited & rewarded me with the creation of two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with excellent retention, slowly falling away, but leaving great lacing in its wake. Color was a gorgeous Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, enticing The Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus to pay me a Christmas Eve visit. Nose was a tropical fruit salad of not just pineapple, mango & passion fruit, but I swear that I also got guava and papaya! Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but definitely big for an AIPA. The taste remained highly fruity in a tropical way & while I am no longer as big a fan as I was when the trend first began, I felt like I was meeting up with an old friend whom I had not seen for a while. Finish was semi-dry but I would have preferred a bit more bitterness, even though that is not what they were going for. YMMV.

I tried this at the Roanoke, VA location and was very impressed. It poured a clear golden with thin white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had hints of tropical fruit peel. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with malt base and citrus hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was a solid beer.

Pours a very pale yellow for an IPA. Smell is overwhelmed by malt- more than I’m looking for in a hop forward beer. Pineapple, mango, and a hint of pine in there as well. Tastes more like a pale ale. Very malt forward. Goes down smooth, very creamy with less carbonation than expected. I am a big starr Hill fan, and love northern lights. This, however is a big disappointment. I think they made it to appease people who say they like craft beer but really enjoy BL. Nothing wrong with that, but not for 10.99 a 6 pack. Hoping my girlfriend will drink the other 5.

Pineapple in smell, sweet mango taste with tart hoppy mouthfeel. Sweet sticky aftertaste. Darn good beer
