P- Westy's Beer Distributor

A- A copper/brown color with less than a 1/4 finger head when poured and it runs off quickly. A poor lacing as well. Clear but striated with tones of red.

S- figs, toffee malts and brown sugar. simple.

F- toffee and brown sugar dominate the palate at first. I then get a mild earthy tone on the back end.

M- chewy and malty. The malts over dominate.

O- not a bad wee heavy. It is hard for me to rate as I have not had very many over the years but this is down on the list of the ones I have had.

Pours dark ruby to near mahogany, deep amber against my computer screen. 1 1/2 finger light tan head that dissipates quickly leaving moderate lacing.

Fruity and citric in aroma with a bit of caramel and spice.

A bit overbalanced in the bitter department in my opinion. Some sweet malts up front with a hint of caramel and the occasional fruity cherry in the back of the mouth, but a bitter, burnt taste hovers over it all. It seems a bit raw, maybe a little more time would improve it.

Medium full in body, light bite of carbonation and oily burn in the throat.

Decent overall, perhaps the oily burn implies overly much bittering hops as opposed to the burnt malt taste I mentioned earlier. It seemed to mellow just a bit as it warmed, but I still think it's a bit raw. I liked it better in the end.

A: Pours a murky mahogany brown with a small off-white head.

S: Brown sugar, light roast, toasted malt, caramel, slightly figgy, mild citric hoppiness.

T: Toffee, mild earthy and leafy hop notes, lightly vinous, bit of booze.

M: Medium-bodied with light carbonation.

O: Not bad. A bit rough around the edges with the hoppiness and booze but pleasant nonetheless.
