Quality, easy drinking cream stout that had me wanting more. The beer is not bursting with powerful flavors but the subtle array of coffee with the creamy mouthfeel make this beer a winner. I ran through a bottle with ease on a cold night and was satisfied. The beer poured a small head, had a nice aroma and was worth drinking. This small brewery has a hidden gem in the massive pile of craft beer.

Bottom Line: Good cream stout. Dearslayer handed off a winner here.

12oz brown bottle, sample from the brewery.

Beautiful tan head, liquid is as black as night. Brash coffee nose, hints of dark chocolate and black currants. Lush smoothness with a little bump of crispness, fresh a bitter coffee flavor. Dark bread maltiness, charcoal and unsweetened chocolate on the palate. While the coffee is bold it does not go overboard. Bitter-sweet finish. Very well done, love the use of coffee and it even stays within the Cream Stout style.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma- It smells like I am smelling my coffee pot! A very strong and nice smelling coffee aroma.
Appearance- Uhhmm, did I mention coffee? with a light brown head. really nice looking.
Taste- Whoa, coffee and malt. I really like the flavor.
Palate- A medium to heavy body with real light carbonation.
Overall- I am new to the Milk Stout style and this is a great awakening for me. I really enjoyed it.

Surprisingly good: Was worried about the possibility of this being overly bitter, but even though the coffee note was very prominent, I actually thought it was pretty easy drinking. This isn't to suggest there wasn't any bitterness, but it seemed well balanced. I'm assuming this had some sweetness, given the fact that the bitterness wasn't extreme, but what was there wasn't overwhelmingly present/front-&-center to me.

Pours a dark black color with a fair dark head. Coffee very forward in the nose. I thought the feel was fairly thick and oily and again, pretty easy drinking.
