The Trader Joe's in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles carries a modest array of ales and brews. Most of them are quite good, some are not quite good, and a few are great, but there's nothing too mind-blowing. Some of the stuff they had on my last visit: Spaten Optimator, Spaten Pils, Franziskaner Hefe, Rialto, Mendocino, Full Sail, Chimay (blue and red), Lindeman's Framboise, Steinhaus, Oranjeboom, Czechvar, Mackeson XXX, Mississippi Mud, Sam Smith's, Brou Czech, Young's, Grolsch, Moretti, Anderson Valley, Ace, plus the Trader Joe's lineup of Gordon Biersch-brewed brews. I've also seen Sapporo, Acme, Red Seal, Stockyard Oatmeal Stout, and Dead Guy there. They also bring in seasonals like pumpkin ales in the fall and TJ's "Winter Bock" around December.

Overall, their selection is focused on local brews, plus a handful from Europe. They also lean towards the lighter side, with lots of Czech and German pilseners and hardly any porters or stouts. It's basically a good place to pick up some nice, easy-drinkin' beers.

The staff are helpful and friendly, and the prices are fantastic! British 550s are $3, Chimay 750s are $7, American sixers are hardly ever over $6, and they sell singles! Domestics are 84 cents each, and imports are a little over a dollar.
