Compared with the overall size of the store, Gordon's beer area is relatively small, taking up a few cooler doors in the extreme back corner of the store, with some other loose bottles scattered at strategic points around the register area. The space they do have is used to the fullest, with bombers packed as tightly as playing cards if not quite as neatly. Selection is good, and this place occasionally scores some gems, but they also seem to whiff on some of the more common releases. Since most of their small cooler is given up to bombers, the selection of 4 and 6 packs is pretty weak. Staff has always been friendly, but I seem to see a new face every visit.

Hit up Gordons because the Drive-thru liquor stores with the bright neon Miller signs just weren't doing it for me. I also asked around town for the best "craft beer" selection. After explaining what Craft Beer was, they motioned me toward Gordons Discount which is right next to the only brewpub in town.
Stopped in and it looked like a little supermarket for liquor. A lot of space, a decent but not great wine area, small beer area in the back left corner, and aisles of liquor, it definitely is one-stop shopping for Greeley.
They had the standard small Colorado brews but no Avery or any of the bigger beers that you would be able to get in Boulder or Denver. I picked up one bottle of Imperial Stout for my hotel room that night, but everything was pretty much only available in 6-packs. Not great for the traveler, but good if you are looking for better beer than the macro swill that is so popular here.
Check it out if you are in the area. Besides the Old Chicago pizza, this is about the only place you are going to get something good.
