I was planning a trip recently to visit a friend in Paducah, and was super excited to visit this place because of all the variety. I'd been there before, but it'd been a few years. The variety was good, and I found a few beers I had been looking for. One I wanted was Stone IPA. The beer in the cooler was two days from expiration, and I can deal with that. I'm not going to buy it, but I understand why it's still there. Well I went to the room temp shelf to find more, and the same beer there had expired in SEPTEMBER?! Why, Roof Bros? Why?! Not going to drink three month expired IPA.

Aside from this, my service was excellent. The tall skinny beer guy seemed to know his stuff and pointed us to some good brew. I'll probably return if I'm in the area.

Went twice within the same week. Vibe was meh, not much in the way of music. Store was a little on the crowded and messy side as far as the craft beer section went. Much cleaner for the wine and liquor sections so it kind of shows what matters more to them. Overall the craft beer section is smallish for a store this size. Decent selection of local and some larger brand names. Service was non-existent one day as they were more focused on people buying wine. The other time they only cared once they saw customers making a purchase around $50, at which point they were helpful. At one point half the beer selection was unavailable as it was blocked by a tasting event. For the area they may be great, but craft beer felt more like an afterthought in the store.

Easily the best selection and service in town: I visited all three stores listed here while working in the area, and this was far superior to the others.

Not from the area, but went here for the first time earlier today. Selection was awesome and service was even better. Kane (the beer and liquor manager) had all kinds of tips and suggestions. Will make this a regular stop when I'm in he area.

Off the charts great store for adult beverages. Their service is unmatched by any in western KY and their selection is incredible. Fortunate to have such a great store in Paducah!

I'm from Atlanta, now live in Paducah. This store and personnel are better than any store in Atlanta. Extremely knowledgeable and a great selection. Kane is THE MAN for information. You can't go wrong here!

I went on a trip and ended up staying at a hotel in this town. Decided to get up early and go to a few stores before my wife got up to finish our trip. I went to the store and met the manager, Cain, he helped me with finding some local brews along with many brews that I cannot find in Alabama. The selection was great, the advice was outstanding. Thanks for the beers and your help.

I have to say this place is all it's hyped up to be and more! The selection is by far the best I've seen in the area (within an hours drive) and will shop here from now on out. The craft beer and wine selection is very impressive with 7 growler fill taps to boot! If you're ever in the area be sure and check this place out!

My craft beer loving son and I have hunted with my nephew in west TN the last two Decembers and both times made a two hour drive to Paducah to visit Roof Brothers. Although deer hunting was our purpose of the trip, visiting Roof Brothers was definitely the high point. Texas has been getting (and producing) a lot more craft beers, however there are so many great breweries, especially Midwest ones, that don't distribute to the Lone Star State.

I was pumped to be able buy two cases of FBS (tried it first time last year but only bought a 4-pack, lived with regret for 11.5 months) and then saw they had it on tap so add a growler of FBS. Several types of Three Floyds available so a couple of bombers of Dreadnaught ($10.99 each) was added, along with some Bells Two Hearted. My shopping list was complete so then talked with Kane for recommendations and he suggested Schlafly's Tasmanian IPA and Heavy Seas Loose Cannon, both solid choices (although wish had bought more than a six-pack of each). I went to check out bourbon selections and Kane & my son chatted a bit (we each had our own grocery cart).

Beers from other breweries that we got were Jolly Pumpkin, New Holland and Kentucky Ale (and probably a few others but my son's not here to help and i should have reviewed Roof Brothers last year and don't want to forget again).

Everybody at Roof Brothers was very helpful (Kane is the beer expert and is a great person to talk with and his suggestions have always been spot on) and selection was incredible (there were 5 or 6 beers on tap but just remember FBS). My only complaint is the distance between Texas and Kentucky but the next time we're seeing family in west Tennessee a road trip to Paducah is gonna be in agenda.

After a bit of a dry-spell, Roof Brothers Wine and Spirits has definitely made a fantastic comeback. Made the voyage down yesterday and was glad to see the shelves stocked with great brews and a few decent offerings on tap for growler fills. December taps included Schlafly Bourbon Barrel Ale, Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron, Anderson Valley Hop Ottin' IPA and Founders Breakfast Stout.

Prices at Roof Brothers, overall, are slightly above average. I still would rate prices as reasonable because of the experience one will typically have there. The resident beer geek, Kane, will not only provide suggestions if needed but can typical attest to any of the beers that they have on stock. His love for beer is obvious and it's always a plus when a bottle store has a person to talk beer with that is as passionate about beer as oneself.

On the shelf? Plenty of mainstays and imports but some of the highlights (for me at least) include: Stone sixers (Pale Ale and IPA) and bombers, pretty much every Dogfish Head offering from 12 ounce packs to large format bottles, 3 Floyds bombers (Alpha Klaus, Arctic Panzer Wolf, Dreadnaught, Moloko, Behemoth, etc), GI bombers and 12 ouncers (including BCBS), Mikkeller (even their 1000 IBU and Beer Geek Brunch Weasel) and tons of Brooklyn bottles as well.

This store is definitely a gem for the beer geek in the area. There isn't really much that can compare within 100 miles or so. The only two negatives that I can really speak to is the infrequent dry spells (which can be a bit of a nuisance if one has to drive an hour to get there... i.e. call ahead) and many of the staff don't know a thing about beer. The later being completely understandable as they are a liquor store that specializes in wine, spirits and gourmet foods.

All in all, a solid establishment.

8-5-15 Visit; Layout & customer service vastly improved. Still a few old beers on the shelves check them dates!

Bumping up quality & customer service scores based on a 2nd visit

Stopped into this place on my way to North Carolina in very late November

The lay out of this place was pretty good, a bit too wine & booze-centric for my liking

My major gripe was I got several beers that seemed out of date or tired to me. None that I've had from them have truly wowed me

Great customer service, they were friendly & liked talking beer. However, they recommended several beers that seemed stale or sub par to me (many of them IPAs or Hop Harvest ales). I specifically stated I wanted stuff that was hoppy & fresh. They did give me a case-discount which was nice, because the were one of the priciest stores I've been in period

Great selection. Three Floyds, although nothing super rare-had most of these already. Loads of Founder Breakfast Stout & Backwoods Bastard still on the shelf, Decent selection of Stones, Brooklyn, DFH & several others. 4 different beers available for growler fill

As I stated very pricey. There was no way in hell I was paying $15-ish for a bomber of dread naught that is just insane...

I would hit this place again but would be way more discerning about what I buy from these guys next time & would probably hit a store or 2 in the area to baseline prices

I've shopped here a few times and am always impressed. I drive to Nashville regularly for work and usually bring a few things back from there that we don't get in the greater STL area. When TN recently lost DFH, I thought about finding a place in KY as I pass through to get some of those brews.

Well, Roof Bros. is that store and much more. Easy to get to off of I-24, they have an excellent selection. More imports than most of the stores I frequent in the STL area. Also, great selection of Midwest breweries, especially Three Floyds.

The customer service is fantastic. I scored one of their last 4-packs of KBS earlier this year just because I asked. Their beer manager (Kane?) is incredibly knowledgeable and always makes superb suggestions. I stopped in the shop today and he made some excellent suggestions. The rest of the staff are very helpful as well.

The prices are reasonable. A great place to shop. Highly recommend.

Visited Kentucky over the holiday weekend and was advised by Tilley4 to check this place out. It was a bit of a drive, but it was the nearest place to where I was staying so I made the trek. I was not disappointed.

Not only is this a great beer store, but they had an extensive wine and liquor catelogue as well as a bunch of great gourmet food. I found a chipolte cranberry cheese there that I hadn't been able to find in my neck of the woods for years. Big plus there.

Went there primarily to find what beer was there that I can't get in NE Ohio. I ended up dropping a couple hundred dollars. My wife was not happy. She said I was like a kid in a free candy store. I felt like it. I grabbed some Shleflys, Bluegrass Brewing Co., and almost crapped my pants when I saw some Three Floyds and remembered the good old days when that was available where I live. Mostly grabbed sixers but also some bombers.

Even cooler was that they had a table set up to do some beer tastings. The guy pouring was very well informed, definately knew what he was talking about.

They gave me two bottle openers with the purchase and carried it all otu to my car for me and everything. Would have liked a "mix a sixer" option, but really everything was excellent. Great experience, great selection. If it wasn't a 12 hour drive for me I'd stop in again.

This place is easy to get to off of I-24. A large parking lot and big sign make it even easier to find (ie. this place is not a hole in the wall that you have to search for). Great beers from great breweries including a sizeable collection of high quality imports. Service was very helpful. I was looking for some wine too and they quickly pointed me in the right direction. The selection is very good. I hesitate to score it too high simply because they have different distribution than what I am used to seeing in Missouri. Here are a few of the brews they do have that MO does not: Stone, Dogfish Head, Brooklyn, Harpoon, Great Lakes, Three Floyds and Cliper City. Plus, they have local brews like Kentukcy Ale and Bluegrass. They also have 4 taps for growler fills - currently 90 Minute, Great Lakes Erie, Rogue Hazelnut Brown and Schlafly A IPA. This is a really nice store to check out.

Wow what an awesome store! Being from SO IL, it's incredibly hard to find a quality selection of beers, but knowing that this jewel is within an hour's drive makes me not so sad. This place has an extensive selection including Stone, DFH, 3Floyds (which I haven't found anywhere else yet and finally picked up my first 6 pack), Mikkeller, Founder's, Bell's and much, much more. The workers know what they're talking about and there is even a selection of clearance beers which are marked down way low. I was stoked to find Brooklyn beers because I've been dying to try the Local 1 & 2 and they had plenty in stock. Definitely a great store if your stuck in beer poor SO IL like me.

Stopped in the Friday before Three Floyd's Dark Lord Day '10 and the head beer guy Kane (who was busy stocking shelves so he could leave himself for the beer fest) took a break to talk shop. What a wealth of knowledge in craft beer, both domestic and abroad, he has. . sours, brown ales, bourbon barrel aged, etc.You name it, he knows it.Selection and quality are also top notch.I left with a 4-pack of Great Lakes Blackout Stout and 6-pack of Great Divide Titan IPA and was thoroughly pleased with my purchase.

I enjoyed what little bit of time I got to have in this store. I was running a very tight schedule on my little road trip from TN to MO but had heard so many things about this store. They had a great selection of big singles but not really any little ones. Also the prices were pretty fair especially on Dogfish Head. The staff was helpful and friendly and knew beer. The stocking was a bit unorganized and stuff was a little hard to find, Other than that awesome store. If I ever make it back that way I would like to give them and the other location a shot.
