After rediscovering the joy of Okocim Porter, I've been picking up a lot of Baltic Porters. Living near a large Eastern European population makes it pretty easy.
Sadly most of my local retailers do not have Okocim (at least the porter) so I've tried some good and some bad. Thankfully this is one of the former.
I'm pretty sure this is the first beer I've had from Latvia and it's a good one. The color is a deep dark brown with a well pronounced head lacing about the glass. The aroma provides malt and a slight bit of alcohol. The taste is quite more. Caramel from the malts provide a sweetness followed by an almost brandy finish.
It's smooth in body and relatively easy to drink. One of the better beers from the Baltic countries that I've tried.

500 ml bottle. Pours black with tall, creamy, beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is of toasted malt, dark fruit and licorice. Body is medium and smooth. Taste is of toasted malt, plums, spices, brown sugar and herbal hops. Finish is long and semi-sweet. Very nice porter.

Looks perfect black with an upward 3 finger creamy head, almost like Nitro. Smells like bakers cocoa, raisins, muted hops. Taste is refined and delicious. Taste mild chocolate, brown sugar, an unidentifiable fruity presence. Feels luxurious and creamy- This is one fine Porter-Good job Latvia !!

Undated half liter bottle. Pours black with a finger of tan head. Smells of roasted malts and chocolate with some sweetness. Kind of oily feel, not much carbonation. Taste has some prickly bitterness, moving to malty sweetness, chocolate, and coffee. Quite tasty, but I think it could be a little bit stronger and dryer.

The beer pours jet black with a lovely tan head that sticks around for some time. The aroma is a nice combination of roasted malts, dark chocolate, sweet syrup and some very light coffee. The taste is bitter upfront thanks to the roasted malts but it finishes with a dark chocolatesque bittersweetness. The mouthfeel is very chewy, creamy and oily and the carbonation barely noticeable.

Black color, purple 'round the edges.
Nice khaki head; minimal lacing.
Black pepper ice cream nose; inviting.
Medium mouthfeel.
Taste follows the nose; black pepper and cream.
Easy to drink; far from revelatory.

The colour is pitch black; the finger thick head is beige and compact. It sinks slowly to a thick lid leaving some lacing.
The smell is roasted, but not burned. Nuts, dark chocolate, ripe red berries, liquorice and molasses.
The taste is smooth and rich. Growing sweetness, molasses and pumpernickel. Passing light herbal bitterness. Roasted malts, hints of black coffee. Medium bitterness. Salt liquorice and smooth sweetness in the aftertaste, very low clean bitterness and some alcohol. Pumpernickel and salt in the finish.
The carbonation is medium; the very small fresh bubbles are long-lived. The liquid is smooth.
A clean Baltic porter, lacking some depth.

Poured from a 500 ML bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Savannah, GA. The appearance is a dark brown color with a giant tan colored head. The aroma was really great, it was full of chocolate and roasted malt. The taste matched the aroma with some coffee tossed in for good measure.
