Profile: Bold yet approachable, this Tropical IPA is dank and resinous and packs the flavor of a high octane beer in a more sessionable 6.2% abv package. Aromas and flavors of tropical fruits dance wildly over your palate before a splash of juicy bitterness washes them away.

Deep gold color, very clear; thick, sudsy head. Spicy, peppery aroma; some moderate roasted grain notes in the background. A fine hop bitterness hits right from the onset; pine resin; some biscuit-like malt presence. Heavy body; crisp and prickly on the palate; some sticky residual sugar notes yet dry overall.

A very fine IPA, nice and bitter up front yet nicely balanced with a deft presence of malt grains.

A smooth pop of the tab and the bubbles runneth over.
I take the can to my nose and dense resinous odors emanate forth from the open can top.
First pour spills all over my counter top...oh it is pretty orange.
A deep orange with a 7/8 inch head - oohhhhh Randy!!
First sip - it drinks heavier than it smells.
...
that's some dank beer

Had on tap. This one had a nice piney and woody hop character to go with the almost amber like biscuit flavor, yet staying ipa light on the palate. Good amount of flavor packed in, though not nuanced or complex. Solid

- amber pour from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma is minimal, but a fine foam grips the glass. The hop flavor is primarily spruce-pine. That grip is supported by a strong, bready malt presence. This is a flavorful brew that I would enjoy regularly if I was a Madison resident.

12 oz. bottle, bottled on date appears to read 5/23/16A? Not entirely sure. Either way, acquired the six pack of this stuff from the local bottle shop. The Ale Asylum rep said it was brewed with three different types of hops, and released on 420 for a reason.

Poured into a Central Waters snifter.

A - Body pours a nice juicy hazy golden orange with over a finger's worth of frothy white head that settles down to a nice ring, leaving excellent sheets of fluffy lacing. Lots of nice hazy sediment visible in the glass. Looks very nice.

S - The aroma is pungent, piney, & hoppy. The hops are bright, earthy, & floral. Just a bit horseradish-y, with some of the malt profile beginning to creep more towards the front.

T - Taste follows the nose: smooth & crisp, with good hop presence: nice piney bitterness, citrusy orange peel / grapefruit, with a good balancing dose of bready caramel malts to hold everything together. Very nicely balanced stuff.

M - Feel is smooth, crisp, creamy, fluid. Good piney hop bitterness / resins lingering on the palate. Piney, oily, citric, with lingering notes of oranges and citrus zest.

Overall, a nice IPA from Ale Asylum.
