Pours a dark reddish brown, hazy but not opaque, just looks a little muddy. Slightly off white head that dissipated quickly. I get a touch of nutty malt on the nose along with an earthiness I really like. Tastes of peanuts, caramel, maybe a bit of chocolate. Slightly sweet but not overbearing. Feel is quite smooth, medium bodied with low carbonation. This beer is boring at a glance, but nicely done overall. Definitely glad to have a brown ale besides Bender that I can get anywhere in MN now.

Served in a pint glass at the Argus.

Appearance: Welcoming orange-brown with ruby hues. Big off-white head. Nice lacing.

Aroma: Caramel malts dominate, chocolate, nuts, apple butter, biscuits, toast.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Great full-bodied caramel flavors but otherwise a bit of a let down. I want big dry-roasted nuttiness in a nut brown and this beer lacks that. Mouthfeel is slick and creamy but lends itself to much towards sweetness and isn’t dry enough. Some minor nut, toast, and chocolate flavors are present.

Drinkability: Ok, but not my cup of tea.

Enjoyed on tap at Ale Asylum in Madison, WI. Poured a very dark ruby red body with an off white head that falls to a cap. Aroma is of sweet toffee. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with flavors of brown sugar and a very sweet finish. Decent drinkability.

12oz stubby bottle. Pours into my glass a ruddy brown with a small bubbly white head that quickly fades to nothing. A bit of fine particulate in the glass as well. Aromas begin with caramel and a light toasted graininess. A slight nuttiness is there along with some dark fruit and a very mellow hop aroma in the background.

First sip brings a slightly toasty, almost bready caramel maltiness that flows across with some nutty flavors as well. A mild fruitiness comes through in the middle, flows down clean and finishes with just a touch of hops. A smooth brew but it just ends up boring me a bit.

Mouthfeel is smooth and slightly creamy from the fast moving carbonation. It's somewhere between light and medium bodied making it easy to drink. Overall, it's an easy drinking brown that just seems to be a little lacking in the flavor department to me. Nothing really grabs me in and makes me want to come back to this one.

A-a ruddy brown color and murky not clear. A tan pillowy head that quickly breaks down into a film.
S-nutty malt goodness. No hop or yeast presence.
T-much like the taste. Sweet and nutty. Not much else
M-Medium bodied and carbonated
O-a plain brown ale. Tastes more like an English version. Not much character here but drinkable

Big caramel nose with a hint of chocolate
Pours slightly hazy medium brown under a thin off-white head.
The palate begins with mildly sweet light caramel flavors and then finishes dry with a touch of chocolate.
This is a refreshing medium body, medium to medium low carbonation session beer.

(Served in an American pint glass)

A- This beer has a slightly hazy warm brown body with a creamy off-white head that last and last. There is no sign of carbonation except for a bubble or two rising to the surface.

S- There is a nice blended smell of toasted malt with hints of caramel, biscuit and honey malts that has a distinct nutty smell.

T- This beer has a smooth nice pot caramel flavor with a hint of chocolate malt and a dry biscuit note that is very soft that creates a good nuttiness in this beer. There is a nice light citrus finish to the hops that has a good bitterness.

M- This beer has a medium mouthfeel with a slight creamy texture in the finish.

D-This beer is a work of art. Must nut brown ales are very bad and the malts taste watered down and stale but this beer has fresh flavors with an actual dry nutty note. Good complexity but very easy to drink.
