Straw wit visible particles floating within, a little carbonation and two fingers of glassy white head.

It smells of pineapple, citrus, applesauce, and a deeply resinous quality.

The taste has a fruity citrus quality , with a deep malty backbone, pine and crème brûlée.

Medium to light body with a sticky resinous quality. Little carbonation.

I got this in Roseville California and drinking in Redding July 18, 2019.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to firm layer and leaves some light lacing.

S: Floral, citrus, nice fruitiness, white grape and gooseberry from the Nelson come through, grassy herbal notes, a little pine, crackery malt, and a touch of sweetness.

T: Floral, citrus, lemon lime, grapefruit, a a hint of tangerine, resinous pine, fruity, tropical, pineapple, apricot, gooseberry, white grape, and faint papaya, slight grassy herbal notes, crackery malt, and a touch of sweetness.

M: Light to medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: Nice light sipper.

Pours a fairly clear dark yellow with thick, soft head.

Smell is citrusy with some pine and green tea mixed in.

Taste is citrusy with some resinous notes and a solid bitterness. Some green tea, pine and strawberries peek through as well.

Mouthfeel is medium, sticky and well carbonated.

Overall, a very good, solid west coast IPA.

This is a brand new brewery for me but I really enjoyed this first offering. A nice, crisp, clear IPA with good flavors and aromas. Pours a nice golden color with some fluffy white head that slowly reduces to a mild film, as well as some spotty lingering lacing that slowly dissipated. Smells great - lots of grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, orange and a little passion fruit. Also some nice aromas of piney hops, herbal hops, malt, bread and caramel. Taste follows the nose but surprisingly the strength of the flavors was not as robust and forward as the aromas would’ve let me believe. They all seemed muted and in the distance. Smooth, thin, mild mouthfeel with good carbonation. A solid IPA, I just would’ve rated it higher if the head and lacing lingered longer, and if the flavor intensity matched the aromas. All in all a very enjoyable beer and I will definitely be looking out for other offerings from this brewery.

Pint can - "Freshest by 12/06/19" stamped on bottom:

Pours yellow with a lasting thin white head. Spots of lacing stick.

The smell is of lemons, white grapes, cracker/biscuit - Something akin to white wine mixed with beer.

The taste is of tart/bitter lemon and dry white grape/white wine. A bit minerally. Soft, but lingering, refreshingly dry finish. Very smooth.

This IPA showcases the New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hops well!

Anytime you have Nelson in your beer name, you're gonna hit up with some high expectations in my mind. Its totally in my fave hop tier. And then compound that with Port (albeit not Pizza Port) brewing, and they go even higher.

Pours a yellow color with a slight haze and 1/3" white head. The aroma was woefully lacking a Nelson hop contingent, much less, well, almost any hop aspect. What the dillio?

Taste, ah man, kinda the same way. Sure, this was bought of a warm shelf at Total Wine, but its not like it was old. It just was really lacking much hop character, but especially lacking that humid dank Nelson hop I've come to love. If anything it just had some of that mild C hop grapefruit and aspirin thing going for it, that was about it. The bitterness was there. The body was fine, usual pale toasted malt thing going on. I dunno, I see no reason to go back to this beer unless almost all other choices aren't available.

It should be noted that I have been on a Nelson kick. Unfortunately, Alpine's Nelson was sold out so I took a small chance buying a six pack of 'Nelson the Greeter'. It was a small chance because I like Port Brewing and choice of hops/ multiple hops is a good predictor of my approval.

This beer gave me the Nelson fix I was looking for. The carbonation, head body and color were all acceptable. But the taste and smell was all Nelson. For me the Nelson hop is less piney, more grapefruit and lemon, and last through the wonderful dry finish.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden/orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is dominated by citrus. Taste is of tart lemons, some grapefruit, a bit of resin, not as bitter as I would have liked. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall it's a decent beer.
