Laid back and hop forward, Port Brewing has been producing world-class beers since 2006. There's nothing better than a sun-soaked day at the beach with the tide coming in... But only if you have a nice citrusy IPA, drenched in notes of tangerine and stone fruit from the judicious amounts of Simcoe and Amarillo hops, at your side. No matter which tide you find, as you stroll the shores of your favorite beach, we hope you find this a most welcoming High Tide.

The color looks pretty similar to what I leak into the toilet. The taste is pretty good. Very piney/ grassy hops. not so much citrus. Feels heavier than it looks.

poured chilled from the can in a tulip
appearance is golden with thick white cream foam with fine bead
The smell has a citrus fragrance from the hops with herbal and grassy accent.
The feel and flavor are very good with moderate carbonation and medium high bitterness with light sweetness and low astringency. The hops are more spice-like and less fruity toward the long finish with dry bitter flavor. The malt is really obscured by the hops in taste which fits the west coast style well. I really enjoyed this but think if it was a fresher can I would have liked it better...the distance from San Diego may have left the hops faded somewhat

Can to English pint glass.
The appearance was a burnt yellow color with some woody orange hues closer to the center. A small two finger white foamy head sustained for a little bit then slid off to leave some messy lace, somewhat sticky.
The aroma had some melon sweetness, a touch of citrus rind, some danky earth and an even lighter dose of floral sweetness.
The flavor moderately leaned towards the sweet end but developed more of a balance between bitter and sweet with some added floral to earthy dankiness. Aftertaste of biscuits, floral sweetness and melon.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation, like an American IPA should be. Nice bitter harshness as expected without being condescending to my tongue. Good finish of citrus rind, melon and biscuits.
Overall, pretty nice West coast styled IPA I'd have again.

I love Port Brewing so it goes without saying that I try all of its beers if I can. I was pleased by this High Tide although was not as stunned as I has been with the ones I had from them before. Let me tell you why.
It is a proper West Coast IPA in look, smell and taste - but somehow it is somewhat closer to a Session IPA that a full-on, in your face, punchy West Coast IPA. I feel that this beer is quite heavy on Citra so it has enough citrusiness as well as bitterness, just like an orange, which is the most similar fruit i. This case. A bitter orange or a red grapefruit. Smells awesome though and tastes good enough for a refresher, no frills, no letdown IPA. Perfectly made from the first sip to the very last. Enjoy this when you’re looking for an outstanding IPA to chill on a summer afternoon or evening. Or whenever the tide is high.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.

S: Piney, floral, bright citrus, faint fruity notes, and a little crackery malt.

T: Piney, floral, citrus, lemon, and a little orange, fruity notes, peach, apricot, and faint passion fruit, a bit grassy, and crackery malt. Virtually no sweetness left to be found.

M: Medium body, slightly lively carbonation, finishes pretty dry.

O: Nice bright west coast IPA. Would be a great summer beach sipper.

Golden with a little cloudiness, moderate carbonation and a hair of white head.

Smells of skunk, malts, and a bit of pineapple.

Tastes of malt, wet dog, and a grapefruit pith bitterness.

Light body with moderate carbonation.

This one is a little lacking for Port Brewing, but its beer so hey.

Surprised that there's so few reviews for this. Pours a hazy, pale yellow with a minimal head that's gone in a flash, lots of floaties. Pleasant hop bitterness, citrusy with a hint of funk in the background - finishes pretty clean. All in all a pretty tasty IPA which leans more towards the NEIPA camp.
