Brewed with Columbus, Amarillo and Simcoe and dry-hopped with Columbus, Amarillo and Citra (a new addition this year) hops, Anniversary Ale has pleasant tones of citrus and pine, a screaming hops presence and just enough malt character to add a hint of sweetness.

A small head of white foam on a hazy, golden body. Musty, sweaty hops with aromas of pine and grapefruit. The flavor profile is similar to the aroma but with bready malt notes and some citrus notes. A thick body, moderate carbonation, and a slightly sweet finish. A fairly nice hop character, though it isn't as bright as it could be and the malt is a bit too heavy.

Poured a caramel orange hazy color with two fingers of cream white head when I got it. Very good layered lacing along the sides. Above average retention on the top on the way down.

Smelled citrus hops, orange, grapefruit, tangerine, floral hops, peach and tropical notes. The 10 percent ABV seemed to be well-hidden.

Tasted the alcohol right away, which was the opposite of the well-hidden smell. Caramel, grapefruit, tangerine, orange, apricot, floral hops and citrus hops.

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, warming bitter finish.

Just a very good double IPA. Look forward to having it again.

on tap at the cambridge - served in tulip

Hazy golden orange pour with a creamy cap of white head resting on top. Slowly fades, leaving a collar of film and rings of lacing on the glass while drinking.

Sweet and hoppy in the nose with pine, citrus and orange peel. Spicy hoppy scents, alcohol buzz and doughy, caramel malts.

Smack of pungent, bitter hops on the tongue up front. Citrus and a splash of tropical fruits underneath the spicy, heavy hop profile. Bitter and dry, leading into a sweet caramel, doughy backbone. Finishes boozy, dry and bitter.

Fuller medium body, well carbonated, sticky and dry on the tongue. A pretty intense drinker, heavy handed on the bitter hops with a soft tempering of sweetness and fruit.

bomber bottle. bottled on 5/10/13.

A: significantly cloudy. rich copper orange hue. head is bubbly and slightly off-white.

S: floral. mellow cantaloupe. kiwi? bitterness, but nothing crazy for the size of the DIPA. warm.

T: alcohol heat is followed by yeasty esters. chalky. bitterness concludes the drink. starts sweet and floral and turns to heat. woooo, that's got some heat.

M: frizzy carb/mouthfeel on a big time body.

D: overall a good brew, but nothing crazy. the yeast is strong, both bitterness and flavor-wise. just not crazy about this though.
