Pours the color of pineapple juice. Half a finger of white head which stays about the same all the way down, leaving not much lacing behind. Watery pineapple juice, yellow and opaque.

Light smell of citrus and perhaps tropical fruits.

Tastes of nondescript fruits, light malts. A bit thin, perhaps watery, aggressively bitter. Not at all juicy, as the name might lead one to believe.

Fairly light and easy to drink. Expect bitter rather than juicy.

16 oz. Can poured vigerously into an imperial pint glass

A swirling deep haze of white-straw golden coloration. Chunky, dense but short white foam cap hold on tight. Lace and constant coverage is pretty excellent.

A deep , hoppy nose is rather impressive. Pine tree, citrus, light but juicy and sweet fruits. A rather excellent hop based aroma. The malt is light and mildly sweet aromatics blends right in with the sweet-citrus hops.

The flavor and mouthfeel are both light and crisp, then full and smooth with lots of hop coloration and electric malty tones. A rather crisp but earthy hoppy bite hits first, pine and tangy edged citrus brings a lively first impression. Very clean mouthfeel and taste is always nice with Peak. Whole grains, wheat, light malted barley, corn and maybe even light rye in the overall malt flavor spectrum. The hops have a big aroma but are toned down slightly in the flavor but puts it a very excellent balance with malt for a prettyclassic approach to the APA. Thinking of the style, this one is just spot-on, with even more malty goodness and hoppy complexity than even some of the best APA's I can think of. The hops are much more "New England" style juicy than they are bold and bitter like the big bots from the west coast (Sierra Nevada being just one). At any rate, the body and taste seems like it gets a wholsome boost from oats. I'm not saying its brewed with oats, but it could be!

Uber quality overall. An honest new classic for the style.

16oz can dated 1/25/17.

Pours cloudy gold with a swirl of the dregs. Average retention and lacing. Aromatics are tropical and hoppy. Mango and peach with some grapefruit pith. On the light side of medium bodied with a somewhat silky body. Tropical citrus on the palate with some dankness. Zero malt with low bitterness. Finishes with lingering citrus and quite dry.

Great beer, would love to try one even fresher.

This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a semi-hazy rustic orange color with a sly transparency about it. Some messy lacing clings around the sides of the glass nicely. The aroma hits a big piney bitterness flowing over a juicy citrus rind. Grapefruit zest pops the top to kick up a little bit of spice. The flavor grasps a bitter juicy rind-like clingy harsh flavor. That pine comes back to balance nicely (that’s gotta be their house yeast). Sharp bitter piney to remnants of some light juice in the aftertaste leading on into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good for what it is. Bitterness feels good and almost close to an AIPA’s harshness on my tongue. Overall, really nice beer from a brewery that I usually don’t go after that much any more.

Tall can....10/24/16 on the bottom

Pours light dull golden , hazed, delicate off white cap, leaves a great looking tiny bubble film, and some delicate low sheeting and lacing.

Tropical fruity and herbal hoppy sniff.

Brightly flavorful, citric, with lemon/lime, grapefruit shining through.

Worthy pale...nice n easy drinking creation from Peak

The CANQuest (tm) is always glad to hear from our Organic friends up in PortCANd, Maine! This time, they have CANferred a 16-fl. oz. tallboy upon us. I CAN only wonder what is next ...

From the CAN: "Pure Ingredients, Delicious Beer"; "A wicked dry-hopped Pale Ale".

I Crack!ed it open & gave it an inverted Glug the likes of which I have not attempted in quite some time. I got an immediate onrush of foam that jumped up like an excited puppy, formed a cap of dense, rocky, foamy, tawny head and then sat down like I had told it to behave itself. Color was a hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 -5). Nose had a pronounced cattiness that led me to wonder if kitty was also misbehaving. It also led to some mouthwatering on my part. If this is not dry-hopped with Simcoe, then I will be stunned by the news. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was VERY catty, which may not be the on thing for some (many?), but for me, it was quite tasty! Frankly, I have had some AIPAs that were less tasty than this APA. It also had a slight berry-like tartness to it that I CANnot quite quantify. Did I mention that I found this to be quite tasty? Finish was dry, but not gasping and the cattiness was lingering, which may put people off. I would also have to add that I would not want a steady dose of it, either. One was satiating, two might be overkill.

Many thanks to SawDog505 for this can.

A - Hazy light orange gold pour with a thick white lacing ring.

S - Very juicy, pithy tropical fruit aroma with crackery malt aroma.

T - Tropical fruit, hemp, tropical fruit rind with some spiciness, pithy fruit resin, lingering sweet bitterness.

M - Big medium body with gentle carbonation, very dry on the finish.

O - One of those "wow" beers. Good shah right here.

It's a big hazy pale ale (could have told me it's an IPA) with the giant tropical punch. My one complaint, and I get this with a lot of hazy hop bombs, is that I get a light burnt onion note at the end of the flavor. However, this also doesn't get too astringent and the balance of a light body to bitterness is spot on. If you like milkshake IPAs, try this.
