Our Amber Ale is designed to start bright and lively from an abundance of Crystal Malts. We establish a strong contrast between front palate and back palate by adding generous amounts of Munich Malt, which provides a distinct toasty finish.

PEAK ORGANIC AMBER ALE 10/31/16

Another from the latest beer club shipment. We get this brewery in my state but I have not had this one before.

Poured from the 12 oz. bottle into an English nonick.

a; Clear copper with a thick white head which receded to patchy surface froam and lacing.

s; Caramel malt.

t; Follows the nose, balanced with light to moderate hop bite. Sweet to bitter finish.

m; Medium, good body and carbonation tingle.

o: A good English style amber, the maltiness intensifies as it warms.

Pours a clear medium amber producing 1.5 fingers of off-white, frothy, somewhat lasting, head that leaves only a little lace above the surface ring. Aroma is a lightly buttered toast with hints of roasted nuts, caramel & grass. Taste is roasted malt & burned bread, nuts, some caramel, increasingly bitter (excessive for the style) with a metallic note from mid-sip into aftertaste. No real sweet note at all. Floral/herbal hop notes & resinous hops in the bitterness profile. Finishes dry, peppery, bitter & metallic becoming bitter, metallic & quite astringent in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with high carbonation, moderately prickly, very dry & drawing. I'm not sure if the bottle I had was mishandled & oxidized but it was not very drinkable & in fact was unpleasant, especially the metallic taste & astringency. In the interest of fairness I will try to get my hands on another bottle but until such time I am compelled to give this one a low review rating.

Amber color, medium-sized white head. Nice hoppy aroma with bread and caramel notes. Hoppy and earthy taste with caramel notes and pleasant bitterness. Decent amber beer.
