Style: American Pale Wheat Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.40%

Notes / Commercial Description:
A traditional summer wheat beer marries a West Coast pale ale. Locally grown wheat provides a complex mouthfeel and Amarillo dry hopping gives a citrusy aroma.

Peak summer has been one of my favorites for the past couple of years. I was really excited with the move to cans as well.

This year, I have had it several times on tap as well as purchased at the store and it has been terrible. Very onion-y, off aroma, not typical of Amarillo hops. Body is good, cloudy, which is to be expected with the wheat, however the aroma detracts from everything else.
Maybe it's due to some recipe screw up since it is contract brewed.

What a shame. I really liked Peak.

A: Poured a clear copper with quickly dissipating head. No lacing.

S: Smells piney and spicey.

T: Tastes coppery with pine and spice up front. Not much to balance the spiceyness

M: Watery and dull fair amount of CO2 which is good for a summer beer

D: Glad I only got one of these, not a terrible beer but definently below my expectations
