Fresh Cut is a sensory experience. It conjures impressions of freshly chopped ingredients, a newly mowed lawn, or the air after a cooling rain. This pale lager delivers captivating notes of fruit, grass and spice - highlighted by the luscious Chinook hop. The beer finishes crisp, dry and refreshing, helping to enhance the colorful flavors up front. Obviously we’re crazy about this beer and had to use a thesaurus to express our feelings about it.

Fresh Cut is a dry-hopped pilsner. Chinook, Citra and Centennial hops provide aromas of citrus, grass and spice. Though the front palate is loud with IPA qualities, the finish is distinctly pilsner- crisp, dry and extremely refreshing. Enjoy!

SUGGESTED FOOD PAIRINGS: Fish Sandwiches, Lobsters, and meals eaten on rustic outdoors single-origin hand-hewn Amish furniture

Fresh Cut has a thick, white head and a slightly hazy straw-gold appearance, with extremely heavy lacing. The aroma is of lemon and white bread crust. The flavor is similar, with low sweetness and high bitterness. Fresh Cut has a medium body and a crisp finish.

12 oz can exp date 6/25/24 into a pokal.
L: SRM 2 Pours a straw light bright lemon yellow with steady carbo and a rocky 1/2" white head that has OK retention, some light soapy lacing.
S: Grains, gently herbal, lightly fruity, distant citrus pith.
T: Bright citrus zest, sweet malts, distant white grape, pear, a hint of earthy dankness, a hint of pastry dough. It is slightly pale and the finish is fairly clean with citrus zest notes lingering.
F: Lightly crisp and generally smooth med-light bodied mouthfeel that has a med-short lightly drying finish.
O: A tasty & refreshing easy-to-drink German-style Pilsner. Extremely well balanced flavors and feel. A beautifully designed beer that is excellent in its style.

Appearance: Scantly hazed, light yellow-hued body with a medium-sized, white cap of foam. Decent lacing.

Smell: A clean, clear, distinct graininess with distant notes of grassy vegetation, lightly citrusy hops.

Taste: Minimally sweetened grain with a quick wash of tap water. Herbal, grassy yet a bit vegetal hops with some modest citrus hints and light bitterness. This just doesn't come together for me.

Mouthfeel: Relatively light-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: So-so.

If I could describe a beer as "pleasantly biting", this is it. The nose has simple fragrance notes, as described by the brewer, outdoors on a breezy late spring/early summer day, some hay, some grass, maybe some floral pollen. The taste is rich and bready, especially for such a light-bodied beer, but that bitterness cuts through almost immediately on the finish. It comes as a surprise, actually. I think the dry-hopped element was executed perfectly on this one. Highly recommended.

Bought from the Monthly Microbrewed Beer Club. (I don't subscribe; I just enjoy rummaging through their remainders.)
Fresh Cut is true to style and true to the planet, organic and locally sourced. Paired at lunch with my KC BBQ (sweet and thick) veggie burger, Fresh Cut's hops filled in for the BBQ's shortage of tang and long on sweet. funny how complements are made sometimes. Fresh Cut Looks average, but finished clean and lingers semi-dry. Flavorful to match the lunch.

Glad to have my first from Peak, I went on their website and see they are over 15 years old and are moderate purveyors of hops; balanced, yet passionate about their brewing as if they were still home brewers. As mentioned, organic ingredients and locally sourced. They brew for the table. They prove sustainability tastes good and has multiple rewards. They push all the "good guy" buttons. And for all that, I give them great Overall Hugs. I look forward to finding a brew of theirs in the Belgian tradition.

A Microbrewed Beer Club offering. Pours a light gold color with a foamy white head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of flowers and lemon. Taste is lemony. Crisp and dry.

Clear golden pour with a white head. Flowers, grass, and lemon zest leads in both the smell and taste. Floral tones are stronger in the taste with various citrus, pilsner malt and grains. Whereas in the nose grass, light hop bitters, yeast and lemon are emphasized. Really well balanced beer, crisp, clean with mild hops, malt and yeast felt to a lesser degree, decently carbonated.

12oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $2.49. Best by 2/19/2021, so who knows how old it is. Seems fresh.

Look: Very pale - a golden straw color with a very soft haze. A nice, white foamy head on the pour that has reduced to a quarter inch. Lots of small bubbles rising up the glass. Looks really refreshing.

Smell: Lots of citrus and dank hop notes right off the bat. Lemon zest and grapefruit rind, perhaps even grapefruit seeds, are present, along with some spicy and earthy notes. Fresh cut grass of course also, along with some more subtle spice notes (cinnamon and clove).

Taste: Up front, it's very clean with some crackery malt and lively carbonation. Then you get a bit of tanginess that borders on juiciness but stops short of going that far. The dry finish is long and bitter with lots of grapefruit pith. It's a very refreshing, clean, and crisp beer. Very flavorful for 4.6% ABV.

Feel: Medium bodied for a pilsner. Decent level of carbonation.

Overall: Wow. I never knew that I liked pilsners so much! Maybe it's the dry-hopping that's doing it for me. Maybe it's also the combination of hops used here: chinook, citra, and centennial. An unusual selection that really works well in this recipe. I could drink a lot of these. It's very drinkable and delicious!
