A small sample at the bar was enough enticement to purchase a growler for further testing.

Upon pouring from the growler the next day into a half liter glass mug, a generous white head emerges, covering a slightly hazy golden-yellow brew. It recedes slowly, leaving light trails of lacing on the sides of the glass.

The carbonation is still plenty active, and presents a mellow experience in the mouth.

A spicy aroma emanates from the glass, with hints of coriander and fresh fruit. The flavor does not disappoint, with a bittersweet orange up front, followed by more sweetness in the middle tempered with a light smattering of hops and a strong apple presence. The slight tang of citrus nips off the sweetness at the end, with a lingering soft spiciness and green apple astringency on the gums.

The dessert-like flavor belies the 9% abv of this strong ale. A nice after dinner aperitif, but a little on the sweet side to accompany dinner, unless it's sweet & sour pork or something similar.
